Nah, I wanted at least three people to agree, since plenty of goons have poo poo opinions too, and until just now only two had bothered to chime in on these.
Based on how dead chat is lately, finding three goons who know end-game stuff and care enough to check his work and give feedback might be too optimistic. Even DR kept people's interest longer than this dud of an expansion did.

Hey, Cryptic. Let us account-unlock lockbox ships/traits and maybe people will log on long enough to play instead of just doing admiralty.

This has nothing to do with making sky coq jump through arbitrary hoops and everything to do with only propagating correct information about a game with notoriously arcane systems and zero documentation. If I didn't care about accuracy I'd silently dump a fortune on him and redirect the wiki straight to /r/stobuilds

Welp, on the one hand the Motion Picture Enterprise-A has always been my favorite, and having it in OP T6 form is tempting. On the other, I'll never in a million years afford it unless some pubbie somewhere fucks up the exchange listing and I get astoundingly lucky.

...on the third hand, joining STFs in a T1 Connie and hearing people ooh and ahh over it until they realize it's just a T1 and explode in rage does have some real potential.

I'm sure that will distract anyone upset about the T6 connie.

For anyone who's new (and still playing), this event should be AFKed as much as possible. Do something else for the 10 minutes of fighting trash, kill the boss ship at the end, collect your rep trinket. Trying to play it right (especially on multiple toons) is mind-destroying. Also, AFKing drives pubbies insane.

Have you seen these posts?
They're pretty popular on Reddit.
One new Cardassian T6 ship and two Jem'hadar T6 ships coming. No idea how, but they're in the tribble files, they have ship shots and everything, so they're playable.

The Jem'hadar ships the escort carrier and Dreadnought carrier with new designs, the Cardassian Ship is a cruiser, probably the Keldon found a couple patches ago. They also updated the Galor model.

Looks like we might be getting craft-able TOS gear as well.

If they're gonna just start giving out admiralty cards for these events they should really just make the "unique" rewards account wide. At this point the only reason to run it is marks, dil and boredom.

Each of the 4 factions (2 full, 2 mini) gets some unique missions, but I'm not sure it's worth making a bunch of alts to see.

For crafting, don't rely on finding enough crafting mats. Just buy stacks of 999 off the exchange. Or bug me if you see me in chat and I'll send you a stack. And remember that unless you're crafting at level 20 with VR doffs, you're almost definitely losing money doing it.

I think in terms of story each faction does get some level of unique content, however all paths pretty much converge once the Romulan arc (mid-30s) ends. Canonically 23rd century Feds are the best fit for the current endgame content, but that's handwaved away pretty easily.

Oh god, admiralty existing means we'll never see an actual interesting reward from an event again will we? Since those actually sort of take effort and modeling work as opposed to making a loving card. :ughh:

You're probably right, I'll amend it to include the recommendation. The "problem" I've seen discussed in regard to TRE is that the damage buff it gives is "category one" which iirc means it is weaker than the buff you get from a Tac console.

I should probably also include the trait from the Zahl, while I'm adding stuff. Tank weirdos seem to have a weird boner for it.

Have done some more checking and it's dev confirmed. Which means that while TRE is a good ship trait that rewards you for doing what you should be doing, it's probably not one of the best in the game.

It's true and it's pretty sad. It's not a horrible ship trait since it's basically free damage that's up almost all the time, but there's some stiff competition for ship trait slots.

Speaking of space barbie, it's annoying that 23c skills and boffs are still only purchaseable in the TOS tutorial. If you didn't think to stock up you're SOL on actually making use of all those fun TOS special effects, and there wasn't any warning that there was unique goodies in the one-chance tutorial. I sort of expected Cryptic to add some vendors for those by now but I guess scamming pubbies out of money with a super rare TOS connie is more important.

Holding out slim hope for a TOS-themed fleet holding.

So with TRE's status as "nice, but not essential" confirmed, what are the top 5 ship traits in the game? For me it's

Emergency Weapon Cycle for better damage
Supremacy for better damage
All Hands on Deck for captain and scihole cooldown reduction
Reciprocity for Tac cooldown reduction
???

In the guide I currently have Regroup but cooldown reduction on Engineering skills seems like a waste of a slot.

Highly Specialised is obviously great for temporal ships (I need to include this one too)
TRE is good for FAW boats
Subwarp sheath if you go fast

I assume even the bump from maxing temporal doesn't upgrade the specialization traits into top tier.

The only one I'd consider would be Superior Pedal to the Metal, which becomes a +30% category 2 buff to all damage for staying at full throttle.

And even that's only if you're in something that's broadsiding and in queues/content where you have the chance to maneuver a lot. Which is surprisingly infrequent these days.
