You can't Snyderize bad shots. Zack Snyder rarely does those. It still amazes me that the cinematographer's next film was Godzilla. What the gently caress did Whedon even have that guy do?

I wish the other Marvel/Fox/Sony movies got equal attention that Whedon and Snyder get. Sometimes it feels like the comic threads only want to talk about Avengers 1+2 and Mos/BvS no matter how much they've already been dissected. I want some new screenshots!

He's one of the few people who defends Snyder's movies, at least Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, in the critics thread (who are convinced everyone in this forum have their heads up their butts for reading into films). He's also responsible for all the poo poo videos of the people he makes fun of appearing on my youtube recommendations too. Thanks guy!

Instead of "what if Man Of Steel were in colour?", fans should ask "What if Man Of Steel had less contrast, and also more grey."

How'd it look in the other schemes, if you saved any of it?

SuperMechagodzilla posted:Instead of "what if Man Of Steel were in colour?", fans should ask "What if Man Of Steel had less contrast, and also more grey." I can't upload images at work, but I just cropped them to the same dimensions and put both of them in grayscale. It's incredible how the Snyderized version does a decent job of looking like it was shot in black and white, with high-contrast pools of color that catch the eye, while the original has just this dreary layer of middle gray over everything. I remember when the trailer for Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing came out and goons had a lot of fun mocking the ineptness of the black and white conversion. The same principles apply here - Whedon just doesn't seem like he has an eye for contrasts

you can fix the aspect ratio and colour grade (not that it's our job to do) but nothing will fix how awkward it looks when characters cgi/wire jump everywhere.

well why not posted:you can fix the aspect ratio and colour grade (not that it's our job to do) but nothing will fix how awkward it looks when characters cgi/wire jump everywhere. Lets put this to the test. Do you have a specific scene from The Avengers in mind that has the awkward CGI? I saved a "Snyderized" preset I can apply to any sequence. Also, here's a still comparison from the scene I edited: vvv Yeah, I think I may have gone a bit to deep towards the yellows. Haha.

The tint levels in the last one give it a bit of an old timey war propaganda feel, which is great for any shot with Cap as the focal point

Mostly I just posted those as similar-to reference for Snydering up those Avengers shots, but I don't think you can vastly improve them with color correction and reframing any more than you can improve the script by changing the font.

Here's my best attempt: Original: ...and it still looks fairly decent (if a bit like After Last Season).

JL vs a-hole JL would be pretty meh. It's good in a comic book setting but "Like your heroes just not!" Isn't all too engaging in a big actiony movie. JL:Babel is a terrible choice as well. It would walk back all the Good Batman "healing" at the end of BvS. So Lex creates I'm left wondering about AquaMomoa... Is the whole thing underwater? Interesting setting challenges there. 5 years for a SS sequel? Oh boy. Some of this sounds pretty hopeful though so who knows.
