It's entirely possible. Mostly I remember the lines "flowers laid upon the coffin by grieving shitheads immediately withered and died" and "his black crusade against the sun and all things which draw life from it".

Yeah, if you aren't going to visit Australia, don't go because of their reckless disregard for the environment Iespecially the reefs) and the incredible racism instead of not going because of the wildlife

Anyone who reads world news probably heard about this already, but if you haven't: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/sep/05/philippines-president-rodrigo-duterte-barack-obama-son-whore quote:The defiant Philippine leader has responded to critics with a string of outbursts, including labelling the US ambassador to Manila a “gay son of a whore”, telling the Catholic church “don’t gently caress with me”, and accusing the UN of issuing “making GBS threads” statements about his anti-drugs policies. quote:In June, the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, condemned Duterte’s apparent support for extrajudicial killings, saying they were “illegal and a breach of fundamental rights and freedoms”. Duterte replied by calling the UN “stupid” and threatening to withdraw the Philippines from the supranational body. Quite the character. I'm no expert on world relations but I think the Phillippines need the US as an ally in the water territorial disputes with China, among other things.

One of my housemates was bitten by a redback a few years back and he rang the hospital and they said "Yeah it doesn't even effect a percentage of the population, if you start to feel sick then come in but since you haven't had any reaction so far you should be fine, don't worry about it." Edit: Hearsay posted:I have lived in Melbourne (not considered Australia) for 7 years and do heaps of camping, climbing mtb and nature poo poo all over Victoria and NSW. Never had an encounter with a dangerous animal or insect. True story. I can absolutely guarantee that you've been within a few metres to a foot or two away from a redback spider at least once every week, if not every single day that you've been in Melbourne. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean that they're not there. Of course it's a different matter if you're camping or bushwalking, you probably passed close to redback spiders at least several times every day in that case. You probably walked right passed a whole bunch of snakes without realising it as well. Snowglobe of Doom has a new favorite as of 07:53 on Sep 6, 2016 |

My day to day life is not effected by the hostile environment I supposedly live in. If you don't notice the snake in the woods who gives a gently caress? It's also that most Australians are taught "poo poo's dangerous, yo" from an early age so most know to back off whenever they see anything possibly dangerous. I know there's a running joke in the tour diving industry in Asia where you can always tell the Aussie tourists because they're the only ones who will 100% always ask what creatures are likely to kill them under water while everyone else just goes, "oooh, pretty".

My ex was Canadian and I thought she would be cool with our wildlife what with her used to bears in her backyard but would never go first on a trail cos of the spiders and snakes. She'd make me swing a stick around and check for snake holes. Her plan worked once though as I fell down an embankment into a ditch with a few pretty scary loving snakes that later we found were bad news. Geez for a joke I joined a backpackers website about 10 years ago offering a few spare rooms with the username 'Ivan Milat'. I had no shortage of people wanting to stay. I was in my twenties and not really a threatening looking person, but imagine today and think of seeing a random unverified ad for backpacker hosting in a quite private property off the main roads and asking to stay. Many single European and American girls and guys on their own over the course of a year came and EDIT: for those who don't know, Ivan Milat was a Backpacker murderer. I used to live in the American southwest. One point during my hiking in a local wildlife preserve, I stepped over a rock, looked down between my legs, and there was loving California Kingsnake, chilling there. I jumped about twenty feet in the air, and then it just casually slid off into the bush. I encountered a variety of rattlesnakes in my time (and trust me, most will let you know that they're there), except one time, I was with my dog. We were coming down off a pretty steep saddle, so I was jogging down the hill with my dog. As we cross into this really sunlit part of the trail, I see this line on the trail..and it's a loving rattlesnake. It's too late now(like, we're two steps away from this and stopping is impossible), so me and the dog just casually hop over a loving rattlesnake. I thought it was dead, but when I turned around to stare, the snake lifted its head up to look at me, flicking its tongue in the air. I had rudely interrupted its sunbathing. I don't even think the dog noticed it, lucky for me, the dog, and the rattlesnake. Yeah, snakes are scary. Also, content for thread: Obama ing the Republicans during his second inauguration speech.
