remusclaw posted:This is almost certainly true, unfortunately Big man wrestlers seem to be somewhat stigmatized when it comes to match ratings. Vader has no 5* and even Stan Hansen only has them in tag matches against the Funks and Tenryu/Kawada or in singles against Kenta Kobashi. Undertaker only has the Shawn match in the first Hell in a Cell. i wouldn't consider Taue a big man worker in style even if he was technically Big though. i chalk it up more to him being physically awkward and unathletic and working a style that was less cool moves-centric than his contemporaries. since we know matches score highly w/ Dave for athleticism and moves. It might just be my view of choke slams as a big man move, as illustrated by noted superheavyweight, Hurricane Helms.

While it lacked the charm of the first, Delete or Decay is still the second best TNA thing in years. Was that the first time Janice has actually been used?

Naito is doing well when NJPW has transitioned to its new Ace during what was the peak of its company in the last fifteen years. Matt Hardy has managed to revive a company that has never had a peak, ever*, single handedly, and no one even cares to see him wrestle to do it. *We can discuss 2005 X-Division until we're blue in the face but that was a shining star amongst poo poo, both before and after.

# ? Sep 10, 2016 12:44 |

this isn't the peak of NJPW in the past 15 years and Matt hasn't revived anything
|
# ? Sep 10, 2016 13:05 |
I mean Matt has revved the Hardy's as a brand and is getting more bookings for his entire family than they've had in years. But there's absolutely no sign that he's done anything positive for TNA as a whole. Though I guess a case could be made thats as much down to Impact being the most unwatchable it's been in years outside of the Hardys.

# ? Sep 10, 2016 13:17 |

I think Matt Hardy is really only a strong contender for "Best Gimmick" and maybe "Most Improved" since nobody even considered Matt Hardy as anything but the lesser of the two Hardys for most of his career. Outside of that, I'd be surprised if he even charts for any of the other awards. Then again, the Observer snubbed Mark Henry for "Most Improved" during his "Hall of Pain" run, so what do I know?
