Back in the 60s, Saturn rocket stages were floated down the Mississippi on barges to Cape Canaveral. After the first attempt they had to put huge signs reading 'DO NOT SHOOT' on them, because people are loving retarded I guess. Unironically ban all guns.

What constitutes the right mixture for particulate combustion varies by substance. Flour seems quite prone to combustibility compared to a lot of things, but that may just be me over-estimating based on the abundance of particulate flour leading to fires/explosions, where, say, iron shavings can explode pretty nice but aren't usually present in small enough grains stored and shipped all over the place in order to cause such an event. Flour, on the other hand, is both combustible and present all over the place all the time, and is frequently in kitchen environments with open flames, promoting that impression further. Plus, you know, grain silo explosions. Shady Amish Terror fucked around with this message at 03:14 on Sep 12, 2016 |

Oh, and reading up a little on dust-air explosions leads to this wonderful little stump of an article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benxihu_Colliery It's hard to be much more OSHA-non-compliant than something described as the worst mining accident in history, which occurred under the Japanese occupation of China. Many sources repeat the death toll of over 1500 workers, which is...pretty unrivaled in horror. I'm not sure many industrial accidents can claim a larger immediate death toll than that. ...Although apparently there are a few. Thanks, Wikipedia, I sure didn't want to think there was some kind of upper limit to the amount of carnage possible in one catastrophic event. 'December 6, 1917: Halifax, Canada. The Halifax Explosion. A ship loaded with about 9000 tons of high explosives destined for France caught fire as a result of a collision in Halifax harbour, and exploded. The explosion killed about 2000 and injured about 9000.'
