No. We still had to move supers, titans and all corp assets through 2 hostile war regions. The trap meant nothing, it was the timeframe and the active participation in the war against us after they gave us 30 minutes notice. Luckily we already had pos's staged through no small feat all the way through tribute and pure blind. Some made it into Saranen before NC./PL moved staging to X-70, rest logged off somewhere in Pure Blind still known only to us and we are all now in Delve. Only thing that saved us was careful planning and being fast to move our poo poo. As a corp we have always been good about this. We lost 0 assets moving but some cannot say the same.

it let you create an out of game app that instantly alerted you anytime a cyno went up, anywhere, in real time

basically anything your client was aware of could be piped out to third party apps without breaking any rules

I wasn't subscribed during the casino war so I don't have a feeling of personal anger about the CO2 betrayal, but I feel like we wouldn't be living up to our principles if we didn't exact excessive retribution at some point. They hosed us, so we have to gently caress them harder as an example to everyone else.

I guess this is assuming PL hasn't killed all their capital by the time we're settled into Delve.

I mean, that sucks poo poo, but that doesn't seem like some huge failing on coalition direction's part, as opposed to your alliance's part, if the party line is to believed. Which is to say that alliance leaderships were being badgered to consolidate to non-sov staging forever and waited until the situation was untenable to pull that trigger.

I mean, idk how supposedly competent leadership didn't see the writing on the wall, when a j-moron-line-member like me was pulling all my vulnerable dek assets the day after Co2 flipped.

And re: the co2 backstab: it hardly matters whether or not they tried to trap supers. If handing over the region commander scrape isn't a backstab, idk what is.

Edit: just saw this was about Vale, which probably was the clusterfuck you described, but, eh, leaving it up, because it applied more generally anyway. More applicable to whatever chucklefucks were still staging in null well after this and cried foul when we couldn't bail them out.

That "gently caress these assholes" rant by tib and various other directors was literally him fusing that various alliance leaders didn't re-stage to saranen when asked. I don't think TNT lost a super during the whole ordeal. Wonder why that is. My guess is because Wibla did as he was asked.

I don't blame anyone. In the end, corp assets are corp responsibilities, soon as we saw PL and a bunch of others camping our systems we bunkered up and left nothing but essentials and started laying plans just in case. We knew how far away we were from any help and how difficult it was gonna be for GSF to help us evac. Timeline wise no one knew what was coming, it was very well laid and kept very quiet. Kudo's to those guys, but gently caress Co2.

I was in a fleet that scrambled out to CO2 space where we were in the middle of or had just finished a pretty big fight where we more or less were losing when the CO2 announcement came out and multiple quotes about how we "left them out to dry" and "let them die / didn't help them with their space". Thing was while we were fighting they weren't even there in any real number helping out while their capital constellation was getting wrecked.

Super trap attempt or no, gently caress those guys.

i mean if you want to host up the banner of 'less competent than many highsec corps' be my guest, tons of people were using the logserver for stuff like that

plus, the fishing crew definitely used it, and we had to explain to people how it worked and why it meant you couldn't cyno to safespots in empty systems if you were in range of the pl fishing crew

it was one of the most effective fishing techniques as long as you had enough logged out dictors because you'd catch people who thought they were completely safe

General comment on the last poo poo: FCON (and probably to an extent RZR) thought they could actually defend, and didn't bother deploying with us to D2-HOS and then Saranen. Even after the writing was on the wall they were staging up there, and IIRC some were even actively told to not evac their poo poo. This happened literally at the same time as TNT were moving trillions of ISK worth of assets out of Tribute and GSOL was doing the same out of Dek.

There's also something to be said about the sheer stupidity of FCON pilots continuing to suicide through the Branch->Deklein gate. Like, EXE lived up in the same area, had a decent amount of supers, and lost NONE. Why? Because they took a sensible route out of that shithole. Funny how that works.
Adding insult to injury, I'm pretty sure that FCON leadership either A) didn't bother telling people to wait and go through Venal, or B) just said "sure, go for it" ...

We were staged closer to begin with, in UMI-KK. Nevertheless, the moment we said "gently caress this, we're abandoning Tribute", our online numbers and fleet participation plummeted. As for supers, heh, we're gonna lose one any day now! We're like a few years overdue now.

Oh, you mean back when you could take a super across the EVE universe in about an hour or so, instead of 1-2 jumps at a time?

Smaller active user base with restricted jump ranges + fatigue = less supers dying outside of big battles that aren't really happening right now. :ms:
