remember that all the chinese government has are promises of throwing huge amounts of cash at the problem, meanwhile their economy is dependent on things like rare earth mineral mining for exports and coal for heating oh keep in mind the whole emperor is far away power dynamic which will see a lot of these projects subcontracted into nothingness and graft (like a lot of land development) Bro Dad fucked around with this message at 01:34 on Sep 23, 2016 |

Also China can't control emissions even if they want to because a decent amount of pollution is from residential heating with coal or wood.

Because of the racism. And the pointless killings. And the fact that they didn't actually do any of that poo poo. They just promised to do that, then when in power, gladly turned around and went right on building up that hierarchy. The only real sincere attempt at uprooting the old economy, and planting a new one, one fundamentally different from what had come before, was the USSR. They failed. But you can't say they didn't try.

The left-wingers and the actual working class members of the NSDAP were immediately suppressed as soon as Hitler realised he could jump into bed with the industrialists and the old aristocrats. Ernst Rohm And I don't want pointless killings, I want killings of the ruling class and the rich in order to remove the threat they pose to social equality. You're kidding yourself if you think there's any way to build a left-wing society while those people are still around. What other description would the liberal capitalists use for a dictatorship of the proletariat but fascist? It's not like it takes much for comparisons to be invited between fascism and even social democrats by them. The Saurus fucked around with this message at 17:06 on Sep 23, 2016 |

In the early 1930's I can understand people being anti-communist. Things weren't looking too great in Bolshevik Russia at the time what with the purges and gulags and 5 year plans. It didn't exactly look like a philosophy that had delivered better conditions for the working class.

Rohm was long dead before the Great Purge. Given how lovely Czarist Russia had been, the state of the USSR circa 1930 was not a good reason for a leftist to be anti-communist.
