I think the only reason I continue to play SFV is because I only have a wireless connection and respect other fighters too much to go online with them.

I'm moving at the end of the month, so I don't want to invest in anything at the moment. Powerline adapters sound like a pretty rad thing though, do you have to install them behind a wall? How do they work?

They are basically Ethernet outlets that you plug into an electric socket on your wall. They are super easy and can be really great or, in my case, randomly good or poo poo because I live in a really old house.

I would assume you need a router, and that the powerline adapter still communicates with that router wirelessly? Or is it just a plug in router with wired connection only access?

It is essentially the same as a big long Ethernet cable if that makes sense. You can probably ask someone in SHSC about it more since this isn't the thread for it, but it is usually way better than wireless.

You have an ethernet cable going from your router to a powerline adapter plugged into the wall and elsewhere in the house you can put another adapter in an electrical socket and have an ethernet cable going from it to whatever device and it will connect. There's a lot of "Ifs" though, mostly if you're in an old house with outdated wiring. They also make wireless ones but that kind of defeats the purpose of doing it to get away from wifi.

Yup, you send the data signal over the circuit, but you need both ends to be on the same panel. Still, they're cheap enough that you can try it out easily enough. Personally, I just wired up every apartment I lived in, never heard a complaint from the landlord (don't even think they noticed).

Been perusing this thread, I mostly feel bad for people who are more invested in FGs than I am, this game being hot crap does not bode well for the scene. And cams you need to nut up or shut up already and fight the drat match.
