A project car joke I like to make is to take an old Buick Roadmaster station wagon and LS swap and leave the exterior stock.

But this will do. :iia:

That will happen to my fiancee's if the stock L05 ever blows up. Maybe a T56 swap with the FtoBkit (developed by a guy 40 miles from here!) If she wants, too.

This is apparently an old Malibu named "T Bone" (for the obvious reason) that usually goes to demo derbies, but the guy brought it to a dragstrip and it went 7.44 before this happened. I suspect nitrous MIGHT have been involved

Breaking tables is dead, images are automatically scaled to fit if they're oversize.

I opened it in a new tab and fullsized to get the full effect, though. :allears:

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

I'm suddenly reminded of the steel plug they put on top of an underground nuclear test which may or may not have achieved escape velocity. They captured one frame of it after detonation and estimated the speed as "bat out of hell"

1/8th mile right? Right? Because if that heap is pulling 7.44 in the quarter mile, I suspect magic might be involved. Dark magic.

This was on Sloppy Mechanics, the group run by the guy whose youtube used to be denmah and is now Sloppy Mechanics, and the people in that group generally make 500+hp out of junkyard vortecs slammed into random trash cars and then turbo/spray the gently caress out of them for fun, so who knows.

Actually, air resistance ignored, falling out of a plane it would only run a 9.05@198mph.

To get into the 8s, you have to average over 1g.

Make them drive a Cavalier, doesn't really matter what year because every single edition was a miserable car. Though the third gen was by far the worst.

They were cheap though, and had an American name, so people bought them in hordes.

Even better, it's Australian dollars.

Not the American dollar value equivalent to AU$1500 (it's about US$1150), but actual Australian kangaroo money notes. Part of the challenge is finding a car lot sketchy enough to accept them (saying they're Canadian is allowed).

Pretty much anything American with a 3-speed auto and a carb for maximum misery. Preferably from the late 70s-early 80s, with vinyl seats and no A/C.

Or if the show is to be entertaining, any one of the many botched SBC/SBF swaps available on Craigslist with the goal of making it do a burnout mad skids by the end of the episode.
