It has to be that way to be consistent with other ways ball out of bounds interactions work in other portions of the rule book. This is not even close to a new thing. If that was a man in a patriots jersey this thread's reaction would have been "Oh my that Bill, up to it with his special teams coaching hoodoo again!"

I don't know what happened to Pittsburgh. Just no relief throughout that game. It wasn't a turnover fest at least, but the lines both got dominated, special teams gave up some plays, and enough defenders got injured early to render us helpless against a rookie friendly offense. I'm not really impressed with Wentz. He got every opportunity to succeed yesterday. Fletcher Cox and the Steelers' nonexistent pressure determined the outcome. Hey also uh gently caress whoever thought a guy should be suspended for a season for marijuana.

Anyone having the awareness to do this is Cool and Good, if you ask me. That's a silly obscure rule that will result in players trying desperately to touch a football while keeping their feet out of bounds which is hilarious and should happen all the time.

Well no, the Patriots did that exact thing a few years back and my response was the same then, as it's very stupid to have a rule which encourages a player leaving the field of play intentionally to interact with a live football.

If a cornerback had a foot out of bounds and managed to touch the football before it was caught, is it a dead ball?

Intruder posted:If a cornerback had a foot out of bounds and managed to touch the football before it was caught, is it a dead ball? Per section 21, article 3, item 2 it's a dead ball. quote:Loose Ball. A loose ball is out of bounds when it touches a boundary line or anything that is on or outside such line, including a player, an official, or a pylon. But a player voluntarily going out of bounds to do that should be a penalty just like how it's a penalty for a player to voluntarily go OOB on a punt to get downfield.

He might have pulled it off and beat the dude in front of him if Quinn wasn't burning down on his rear end, although he still probably wouldn't have scored.

Two touchdowns vs a touchdown and a FG And if you're up by 13 instead of 12, you're still relying on a missed XP if they score two TDs
