Zowie is a no bullshit mouse that comes only with a button that you can switch between 4 DPI settings (400, 800, 1200, 1600) and installs a driver. There's a few different variations of Zowie mice so it all depends on the type of grip you use, as well as size preference.

Been looking for a new mouse, I currently use a g500s weighted the gently caress out, probably should pull the weights out honestly, but then I'd have to relearn it. ANyway, the mouse was good for non-FPS games, but I feel like for CSGO I could get better use out of a different mouse, especially since I don't need 15 buttons. It's hard to get a good view of the mice, but I see people recommending the ec1-a for a claw grip, confirm/deny?

I didn't like the shape of the ZA11, the FK1 was too big, and the EC1-A didn't feel right either. Once I got used to the FK2 (it's much different than the MX510/g400s) it was great. I knew I needed to get past the mx/g style. The FK2 is light, slightly smaller than the FK1 (I have average sized hands), has great pads that glide nicely on a cloth mat, and something we take for granted: it has a great cord that doesn't get in the way and is a different material than the mx/g mice. It's like a softer plastic that bends easier. I use a g400s on my work laptop when I'm home - it's sitting next to me right now - and I can't imagine going back to that type of mouse for CS or other aim intensive games. I'm able to use the same grip as my previous mouse even though it's a completely different shape with much more control. I easily returned all 3 of those other mice once I stuck with the FK2. Started playing recently, got ranked in the Nova thing with two stars. I'm a nub. Should I be playing all the comp maps or only the active duty ones? Does it matter? Will any goons play with me if I can't use a mic, or is that just wasting everyone's time?

The only way it really matters is that when you queue for less popular maps you can end up with strange and unbalanced matches rankwise since there's less people to pull from. There's some US goons playing on nova levels at least (I think there's even a group?) but you really ought to get yourself a mic, they only cost like $5 or less for a completely servicable one.

I have a microphone I will send in the mail to a goon free of charge with a promise it will be used. It's kinda loud though, so you might have to mess with the settings or something and figure out how to save them.

This doesn't do you any good if every other mic you have sucks because of line noise. You'd just be impossible to understand and get yelled at. If you don't get any line noise from your PC then you're cool.
