I wonder if people would be talking as much about NX if it had been announced back at E3. There's like some weird unintentional reverse marketing/hype revolving around the whole "When will it be revealed?" thing. Only problem is that the general population, the more important market to target with a new console, is left in the dark because they're not a bunch of crazy people making predictions on the internet.

Challenge the modern perception that people need 6-12 months of mental preparation before a product appears in stores. So long as you keep the retailers involved and updated on shipments and stuff you would be fine. The main problem with the Saturn launch was that the retailers didn't even know or have plans for it to come out so soon.

I believe they'll reveal it this month, but I think they could get away with announcing it as late as January and still have a good March launch If they don't reveal it this month they will start to have substantial leaks though, and to them I think the most important thing is control over messaging. greatn fucked around with this message at 21:11 on Oct 3, 2016 |

The Nintendo NX is revealed to be the cave Miyamoto found as a kid and they start selling tickets at the entrance. To play Zelda you explore the cave in a Link costume. You can rent a Mario costume to play Mario NX and jump around in the darkness. If you ask to play Metroid they call the security to swiftly escort you out of the premises.

If they want to delay the NX to later next year, that's on them and I'm personally fine with it if it means it makes a better console.
