Did Jrod rape Jrodimus?!

Someone in the YOSPOS bot thread asked what my seed text was and it never occurred to me JRod didn't talk about rape. Oh noooo. I'm opening the lexicon now.

Edit: the lexicon has eight instances of "rape." Here are three:

quote:

Like most decent people, I assume that your view is that people have certain rights as human beings that ought to be respected, which includes not being murdered, raped or enslaved.

quote:

If you do NOT accept self-ownership, then your moral theory has some very serious problems that you have to account for. There would be no principled reason to oppose slavery or rape or murder. Sure you could try and make a utilitarian case for why it would be a net negative for society to permit these things, but it is easy to imagine situations where utilitarians could argue for such violations of human rights.

quote:

You cannot propose that murder is immoral in California but not in New York. Or that rape is wrong for a poor minority but not for a rich white man. No, ethical rules governing human behavior must be universalizable to all members of society if faced with a similar situation.

It's not really surprising how many of the sins he mentions are committed by Jrod and libertarians in general since the ideology can only exist in fuzzy vagueness. As soon as someone tries to pin down what the consequences of those policies are, it all falls apart. Just something that struck me when I read it.

That's one of my faves. If we're bringing back old articles (back when they were called :airquote: essays :airquote: ) I'd like to relink In Praise of Idleness by Bertrand Russell, who called for a four hour workday to sustain the common living wage because of our vast excess due to specialization and machinization of labor, in 1932.

Hey WrenP, is the source code for Jrodbot available anywhere? I'm learning to write stuff for the Amazon Echo, and I want to make a skill where you could say something like "Alexa, ask libertarians about [topic]" and have it respond with some barely coherent libertarian nonsense. Because I'm an easily amused idiot like that.

WrenP-Complete

So I can show you code from before I added a bunch of stuff I'm doing for work! (Bayesian weighting, a more robust downward traveling structure) Hopefully from there you can add your own special touches and have a baby robot of your very own. And I'll show that stuff when I can, it's just not public yet.

A few people have asked me, so I'm going to organize it more clearly in the pastebin, because it's two different scripts. Give me a little bit and I'll have it ready.

This really should be my impetus to get my github running properly but I'm traveling for a conference this week and am currently rewriting a protocol for my study (one not-so-easy trick your lawyer doesn't want you to do!).

Edit: also, did anyone watch that stripping Libertarian video? I didn't and someone referenced a dancing Libertarian with Nazi tattoos in the USPol chat.

It happened during their party convention, and was covered on popular media such as Sam B. Whether or not an iron cross is national socialist per se is questionable, but presumably this guy meant it as a white pride thing rather than an homage to the Kaiser :v:

Okay goon friends, here are some public bot files. (Disclaimer: I'm new to coding in anything but R, so this is probably full of errors. If you point them out to me, I will improve and get better :) )

You are going to need three files, and this works on Python 2.7, 3.4, 3.5, I'm not sure about other versions.
1 a markovbot package - I think I've cobbled together a few different ones here: http://pastebin.com/dcRhceuJ (the comments on this one aren't me)
This has a whole part of connecting to twitter, and mine are just not connected up right now, I'm not sure if they ever will be, since the work project I'm doing doesn't have that as a spec. But the work bot's twitter account is @laziestbot, and you are welcome to follow it, and if I stop posting and the bot is selling Soylent, you'll know what happened to me.
2 the bot itself - Here is trumpbot.py http://pastebin.com/XNGmtgRF (the corny humor comments on this one are probably me)
3 a plaintext file of whatever lexicon you want to use. If you don't know how to scrape data yet, you can just use copy paste. If the bot doesn't have enough text, it makes a set of predictable errors, like repeating the same phrase over and over.

Also, there are other yosposters who are much better than me at all of this, so this thread is also a resource:
http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3764241
Crusader and I seem to be on the same adventure of turning our Markov bots into recurrent neural networks, but my favorite goon bot is really the "Would you rather bot":

Thanks, I wasn't sure if "dancing" was an allusion to stripping and it was conceivable (to me) there might be two dancing Libertarians. I asked in the thread but no reply. Almost everyone is Arzying about the election. I have no opinion on these symbolic issues.

The horrible thing is that if you did develop an AI that could get a regular article-writing seat with some outlet like that, it's not impossible that you could wrap some "cut all taxes and execute the minorities" hamburger around actual policy ideas and see Republicans start advocating them.
