Dr. Angela Ziegler posted:Please explain what "a LOT worse" looks like compared to his first debate. Like, it would have to be take a swing at someone level. Well during the townhall style thing with Matt Lauer, he verbally attacked one of the audience question-askers, calling her a liar. I doubt he'll take a swing at someone but that's the next best thing.

All that the hackers would need to do otherwise is just doctor up some files and pass them off as genuine. The tinfoil hat brigade is going believe the Russian propaganda machine over the Democrats anyway, and any thinking American has realized after the millionth hack on one side versus zero on the other (one if you count taxes) that this is either the other candidate/surrogate breaking the law or a foreign power trying to gently caress with our election for their own gain.

It'd be really unlikely, but as much as they coach the question askers to be neutral, they're also ordinary people, not experienced media professionals. If one of them got mad and decided to have a verbal go at Trump, do you think he would rise above the provocation?

Shimrra Jamaane posted:I'm trying not to fall into some "rah rah America Number 1" exceptionalism crap but some of you guys are making it tough. The US can do literally anything the Russians can do in regards to technology and military and do it way better. There are probably NSA think tanks that spend their days laughing about some pathetically failed Russian attempt at something or rather. I know this is late but that is woefully inaccurate when it comes to cybersecurity. I work in cyber security. I hobnob with some of the best out there, and NONE of them ever want work for the government in any capacity, for these reasons (in no particular order): 1. Drugs 2. Anti authority 3. Complete distrust of the government 4. The pay is LOLOLOL 5. Drugs 6. Massive red tape 7. Freedom of information Literally none of the people I know that the government would be interested in (including myself) could pass a drug test. Plus for the work I do I think I would be paid somewhere around 68k a year. I make more than double that in the private sector. The government just cannot afford the best and brightest when it comes to cybersecurity, and the only way they can get the top talent on their team is catching blackhats and offering them a deal where they either do fed time or work however long their sentence would be for a 3 letter agency.
