I didn't notice that she was a student teacher. Yeah, that's probably going to cost her her job/career. But the UK is famous for having a whole class of people who don't really have the same values and sense of proprietary as the rest of the country. Probably all her mates and even family think it's hilarious, as well as anyone whose opinion she'll ever wind up caring about - it's just her career as a teacher that's on the line, because you can't sexualise yourself so readily and publicly if you work around children.

What might be impending schadenfreude, if you really dislike smug old men who don't listen.quote:Joseph Brown lives near downtown Daytona Beach, just on the other side of the Halifax River and said he plans to ride out the storm like any other: without fear, in the comfort of his own home. The 72-year-old former Marine hasn't prepared at all. No extra food. No extra water. Daytona is expected to get winds in excess of 120 MPH, plus flooding since it's on the coast.

Jesus, he doesn't even live in Daytona, he lives on the island just off the mainland coast. There's a decent chance every single bridge back to the mainland will get cutoff for a few days. Hell, his whole house might get swept away by the tides if they get bad enough.

AMERICAN POLITICAL PRISONER ISSUES PUBLIC STATEMENT FROM PRISON As Michael Tomasky of Daily Beast puts it, “A great man has been smeared here. Yeah, he’s only serving one year over those 29 deaths (Good Lord willing, less—there’s a hearing on that this month). And yeah, he’s in a minimum-security facility that, according to one ex-inmate, has a vast sports complex and six pool tables and six foosball tables. But it’s the principle of the thing, dammit.”

My uncle Chan had a female African Grey called Joe, who would call the dog over just to confuse it. Joe could imitate Chan perfectly, and they'd talk to each other in the same voice. Unfortunately, Chan was an alcoholic and passed away while living with my other uncle Rob back in 2012. Rob was then left living with a parrot who spoke in the voice of his deceased brother. He found a new home for her pretty quickly. Joe also once bit me on the arm hard enough to leave a scar 16 years later.

Last time I worked retail while stocking near our windows I saw a very healthy looking mid 30s woman pull into a handicapped space and run into the shop a door over. About 5 minutes later the parking enforcement cop pulled up and left a ticket. Then about another 5 minutes later the woman came out and I got to watch her as she spotted the ticket. Oh man that was great.

Oh man that was great. I know this is more of a "pet peeves thread" content thing but I have to chime in here. Stores around here all have this huge yellow-striped strip right in front with NO STANDING FIRE LANE painted in huge yellow letters across it. And there is always, always at least two or three cars sitting in it, idling, while someone goes inside to shop. (Clearly the satellite managed to snap a shot when this was not the case, just to spite me) But I mean... there are parking spaces RIGHT THERE. Like twenty feet away. But people can't make it that far, they have to sit their rear end in the NO STANDING FIRE LANE zone because the rules don't apply to them. Bonus points, this AutoZone has extra signs saying NO WORKING ON YOUR CAR in front of the no standing zone, and invariably there are always people parked in it with their hood open, happily changing an air filter or something.

On the upside, if a firetruck actually comes by they will gladly gently caress their car up and charge them for it. Park in front of a fire hydrant? they'll bust your windows to get a hose through, also you're getting ticketed, gently caress you.
