There is pretty much zero chance the vote pulls the 2/3rds majority it needs to pass, so the mayor's endorsement and the Chargers' "concessions" are irrelevant.

I expect tax dollars spent to clearly benefit the public, not the 22nd richest person the world. Especially because this is a state that has in the last two years refused to raise taxes on mining companies that currently pay zero or close to zero taxes by law of the State Constitution. It also launched a witch hunt for any member of the legislature that voted to fund education. Adelson can build his toy with his own money, just like he did with his casinos. If it were a good business investment, private money would be crowding out the state's potential investment.

So all the public parks with fields have days that I can check them out for my rec team. Where do I, a citizen who contributes taxes to pay for these stadiums (do billionaires even pay taxes? Trump didnt.), sign up for my recreational field day at the Raiders stadium? I mean it is a public field, isn't it? Right?

Who the gently caress wants to go to a stadium anyways? Crowded, full of stabby assholes, expensive terrible beer and food and a generally lovely view. The whole point of civilization is that I can sit in my underwear yelling at a high-definition, big screen TV while a pizza gets brought to me and I don't have to pee in a trough.

That 8-8 season was a shocking decline that most niners fans viewed as the tragic destruction of what should have been a great team on its way to a revenge match in the superbowl.

The big day is here, looks like some good questions are being asked UNLV would have to pay 1.5 million a year to play in the stadium which is uhhhh not good since athletics is only in the black this year because of the whack rear end Chris Beard fiasco (gently caress him and texas tech btw) edit: looks like that number might be negotiable? it better drat well be Lessail fucked around with this message at 20:19 on Oct 10, 2016 |

Here is their idea as to what the stadium will be used for: Seems quite optimistic to me. I'm not sure what they mean by "corporate/public show". Rugby isn't a major draw, I doubt you could get more than a few thousand people for a rugby game in the US unless you had the US national team playing an elite opponent, or a game with two elite national teams. Major soccer games won't happen without a natural grass surface, which would require an insane amount of maintenance. Two neutral site college football games plus two bowl games probably won't happen every year, nor would two stadium concerts. Konstantin fucked around with this message at 20:33 on Oct 10, 2016 |

Vegas has a unique economy, sure, but the argument of "we're different so anything proving this is a bad idea doesn't apply" seems so childish. Also, 250k per game seems pretty ludicrous unless UNLV gets to claim ticket fees and concessions as part of the rental agreement. Owners are essentially printing money otherwise.
