Isn't that weird that recently more and more K$ campaigns are basically "make a successfull franchise", without the whole "start small, gain popularity and then eventually expand into other media"? Do these people seriously think they can manufacture such thing out of thin air, without building a fanbase?

At least the people who use copyrighted IPs and think they can just ask for money to make thier own sequels are kinda cutely naive, the balant 'thing x but with the serial numbers filed off' (unless its been made with people with talent who can't don't have the rights) projects seem really cynical and cash grabby.
