Everytime die antwoord are on screen die antwoord songs are playing in the background, often in a diegetic manner implying the characters themselves are listening to it. So are they listening to their own songs on repeat, or is this an alternate universe in which the Ninja and Yolandi we see are not die antwoord, but die antwoord still exists and the characters are fans of them? They never mention making music and seem to just be gangsters, which would imply that they are not die antwoord. However, die antwoord songs often identify them by name, which would be very confusing for them if they are just fans with no involvement in making the music.

Yeah I kinda like Die Antwoord, but not a two hour commercial for Die Antwoord that somehow managed to forget it was supposed to be a movie. I loved District 9, but I don't think I gonna give Neil Blompchomp another chance after his last two movies.

If the whole premise, cast, crew and marketing had been different (not garbage), it stood a chance of being good IMHO.

I'd like to merge all the "sure, you're English...I guess" countries' film industries and put Die Antwoord in one of the Hobbit movies.
