Nice to see they didn't pull some silliness of Daisy being the team's enemy for half a season or more. Same with Robbie.

The more I see of him the more I like him and I hope they find some way for GR to stick around.

Same. Robbie is quickly becoming a favorite though Simmons rocked that episode.

It was absolutely intentional. Several of James's lines in this episode were directly taken from Overwatch:
"Stop me if you've heard this one before."
"This bomb's for you!"
"Well that's a fine how-do-you-do."
"It's a perfect night for a little mayhem!"
"I'm on fire! Well, more than usual."

:aaa: I need to rewatch the episode to catch them. And since Robbie's brother is named Gabriel Reyes, he'snow going to turn into an edgy ghost.

Also I'm not sure how far in advance the script was written, but I could swear that the hacking plan was a nod to season 2 of Mr. Robot, except that Simmons had a much easier time than Angela.

Credit to the show, they set it up like this in the first episode. Fitz's avoidance with telling Simmons about it wasn't fear of jealousy. He stated in the first episode that she had to take regular polygraph tests, so she wouldn't be able to keep Ada a secret from the Director, which was a must after what happened with Ultron.

Then this episode he was immediately proven right, and you could see how sad she was about having to reveal it as soon as he mentioned it.

Coulson just has Littlefinger's teleporter from GoT.

I'm glad they've gotten the band back together already, obviously next episode will feature some explaining about Daisy being back to the director, who will probably accept what she was doing being Inhuman himself. Maybe cook up some story about it being deep cover or something. The shows good at not dragging stuff like that out too long.

I don't know that he was responsible for it. They used him to set a honeypot for Daisy, who had been loving up their poo poo lately. I didn't get the impression that they used the watch to back-door the server, though I might have missed it. I'm thinking a later episode will see a mole hunt instead.

He outright says he was responsible for it, and then goes on at length about how he hates in humans, including himself, and wants to see them killed. He even says he plans to be the last inhuman to die.

I'm not really feeling the whole self-loathing thing for James. I can't make the connection to how he went from the character we saw last season to what we saw in this episode. I don't know if there's going to be more to it that's explained later, if I'm missing something, or if it's just forcing a character to act in a way that's not in line with that character.

Consider how Daisy is acting right now. Debatably, she got to this point after dragging herself through Hive withdrawals. Blames herself for a lot of what happened, has darkened considerably because of it.

James wanted powers because he thought it'd be cool. And it was cool! But then he killed a lot of people and did horrible things, and now he doesn't think it's very cool any more.

James also had to deal with the Hive shakes, and they even said in the show that he took it worse than Daisy. To go from murder and genocide and loving every minute of it to feeling nothing but emptiness and contemplating the wretchedness of your own actions... I'd say that's a very sensible place to turn to self-loathing nihilism.

Add to all that, he wasn't a particularly likeable person even before he had powers. And not having friends or much support after all that can compound that bitterness and self-loathing.

E: this should have been explained better in the show, but its a completely logical turn for the character.

That's fair. Also something I totally forgot about that also totally impacts James' motivation: Hive was technically an Inhuman. I kinda forget that he wasn't just Ward and/or a space monster.
