He did a rally before this dinner so I guessed he would air his grievances, but I didn't think he would attack charity work lmao

A pretty minor point, but not an illegitimate one, and certainly not one that requires some yammering about race in america.

It was still the same research institutes getting its funding from Moscow, ethnic origin didn't matter just like it doesn't matter if some Oxford or MIT Nobel laureate is from India or Italy because most likely they're not doing their research with Indian or Italian research money.

Straight up, one email in the Podesta Wikileaks dumps that was criticizing more conservative Catholics for perverting the teachings of Christ. Not sent by Hillary.

Most of NASA's tech was cribbed from Russians, or made by real Americans like Doctor Wernher Von Braun. I believe every single rocket engine in operation right now works on metallurgy the Russians made specifically for the program. SpaceX rockets began with designs cribbed from Russian rockets. Trump always retreats to his rallies because they are filled with cultists who will give him the adulation he thinks he's entitled to. That they're also filled with the worst of America is also a bonus since they will never, ever question his repugnant views. The people there are increasingly becoming the only "real" America to him since they give him what he wants.

Also, despite the polls, I don't think there's any chance Hillary takes Georgia until I see some more with her actually ahead rather than just close. I suspect it will be like Pennsylvania, where there's enough eroding GOP support to make it look in play but their hard floor is still high enough to keep it for them.

I'd love to be wrong and considering demographic shift, it might be in play soon.

Maybe for rocket engines but the Soviet space industry got lucky early with Korolev and quickly hit a wall that the soviet industry simply couldn't produce reliable enough aerospace parts to compose something as complex as the N1 without it exploding every time.

IMGUR and Twitter are down for me, maybe an east coast thing? Puts a damper on this thread a bit.

Anyways, are McCain and Grahm the only Republicans to get national play for denouncing Trump's rigging comments?

Pat Toomey came out as being against them:

quote:

Following his tour, the senator was asked about Donald Trump’s refusal to commit to accepting the outcome of the election, if it doesn’t go his way.

“Some of the comments from Donald Trump are worse than unfortunate, it’s irresponsible.”

Toomey says the American people know that “our elections have integrity and they are legitimate.”

“It’s absolutely essential that all candidates acknowledge that and accept the results. our election will reflect the will of the american people.’
reporter: did his performance at the debate finally persuade you one way or the other?

“My view hasn’t changed. I find his candidacy very problematic.”

Not sure if this helps or hurts him. The rural areas of PA are in love with Trump, but the suburbs can probably get behind Toomey? Hopefully, he gets pressed on it more and we can tie him to Trump in voter's minds.

People are different and have different reactions. But most women that get abortions don't regret them. Many are expecting to feel bad about it but never do, and think something is wrong with them, because the anti-choice movement has been successful in portraying the process as a sad and traumatic experience. This is not to say that it wouldn't be a sad and traumatic experience for some, but it is not for many others.

Everyone's emotions are valid. :)

This and the Amy Schumer (correct comedian?) reaction reinforce something that I encountered as a kid: people have this "all media is for me" mentality and as soon as some artist/athlete/person steps outside of their political comfort zone they become halal. It happened to the Dixie Chicks and I was always shocked that people who never seemed to give a poo poo about politics all of a sudden cared that these ladies had an opinion they didn't like. It's a real white person thing, I think.

I wonder if someone's done some scholarly research about this.
