Transformers More Than Meets The Eye #35: Context: Through a long and somewhat convoluted series of events Megatron became an Autobot and renounced the Decepticon cause. Part of that involved becoming captain of a starship called the Lost Light and being sent on a quest to find a legendary group of Cybertronians no one's seen for millions of years. In practice that means he's been saddled with a bunch of second-string no-hoper idiots he has to corral into something resembling competence, including his glory-hound of a co-captain (a rank which doesn't exist and Optimus Prime made it up on the spot to soothe his ego). These pages comes just as they start to figure out the latest insidious plot/diversion/waste of time launched by one of their own crew:

Why do so many of Green Arrow's villains use bow and arrows? Haven't any of them ever heard of a gun? Edit: Like these people hear there's a motherfucker out there who is the best with a bow and arrow. This dude is so good at shooting arrows he gets to hang out with Superman like they're peers and best buddies. They take this knowledge and they're all "you know what? I'm gonna out bow and arrow him." Push El Burrito fucked around with this message at 22:07 on Oct 21, 2016 |

Arrows are considered Silent Weapons, so they won't raise an alarm and you'll get the stealth bonus at the end of the mission. efb

Green Arrow and his villains are just a bunch of rich people that met at a country club's archery competition and found they also share a love of theatrics.

WickedHate posted:Wait, what!? The West Coast Avengers got into this really cool time-travel arc where each issue things broke into another timeline, and in one of them (somewhere in the 1800s) Mockingbird was knocked out and separated from the Avengers. Ghost Rider found out she had gotten amnesia and brainwashed her into thinking she loved him. She came to her senses, got pissed, and let him fall off a cliff to his death. Hawkeye got so mad about her alleged violation of the "Avengers don't kill" rule that he divorced her. Not his finest hour.

It's a solution that operates under human logic, gives Bobbi back a sense of agency and responsibility without deifying her, and recasts a truly appalling story in a way that is far less appalling. The fact that the solution is weak-handed and little more than a big "nuh-uh" to the original story are flaws I am 100% comfortable embracing.
