I mean, "older SA" is literally before the word meme was in common parlance. Yeah, Dawkins in 1976, Wired in 1993, but I didn't really hear viral internet poo poo called that regularly until the early 2000s. Edit: Huh, Google Trends shows the term really taking off around 2010. Double Edit: It's really weird to think that this dead gay forum has been shambling along with at least some semblance of life for 17 years now. I was worried playing Mercedes in Odin Sphere would suck after two melee focused characters but she's like bringing a magic machine gun to a knife fight.

Just get ready to hear "HERE WE GO" around a million times. And yeah people tend to dislike her playstyle since it's the most different from the other four characters. It takes a bit to get used to but you can do some fun maneuvers with it and eventually it becomes even more broken than what you describe.

I'm playing in Japanese and can tune out 'ikuze!' pretty easily. Yeah, I just got the move where you slide along the floor shooting upwards and I might as well be playing 2D anime Max Payne now.

I just remembered this thread! About RPGs! How are you supposed to buy the Fire Emblem Fates games? Buy one, then the other one on the Eshop or something? I'd know this already if I had a 3DS.

Mercedes was my favorite character in the original Odin Sphere, but that largely revolves around understanding that the POW potion entirely makes the character. Not having to Reload completely changes the game.

Finished Mercedes campaign and Oswald feels so boring by comparison. Doesn't help that it seems like he does barely any damage outside of berserk mode either.
