The one thing Bernie would have probably been worse at is sticking Trump with the kinds of character and personality based attacks that have really destroyed him. Hillary has shown no mercy there and Bernie would spend too much time on how amazing his political revolution would be. I mean I'm sure any national politician would be able to get some mileage out of how deplorable Trump is but Bernie wouldn't be maximizing that

read this and despair:

quote:

These questions, too, more often than not yielded bewilderment. As far as I could tell, the problem wasn't the word "issue"; it was a fundamental lack of understanding of what constituted the broad category of the "political." The undecideds I spoke to didn't seem to have any intuitive grasp of what kinds of grievances qualify as political grievances. Often, once I would engage undecided voters, they would list concerns, such as the rising cost of health care; but when I would tell them that Kerry had a plan to lower health-care premiums, they would respond in disbelief--not in disbelief that he had a plan, but that the cost of health care was a political issue. It was as if you were telling them that Kerry was promising to extend summer into December.

I'm pretty sure most undecided voters are people who would-vote-for-trump-but-____, or would-vote-for-clinton-but-____. And the main thrust of electioneering is to get more confident support from your 'undecideds' and further dishearten your opponents' 'undecideds'. I'd bet the number of people who could theoretically vote for either candidate is very very small.

I don't really see the big difference here, so if you could expan on the point I'd appreciate it.

Unless you've already drank the Republican kool-aid, you aren't just going to accept every wild accusation the GOP throws at the Democrat uncritically (well you might if you're an undecided voter because undecided voters have a void where their brains should be). "Obama is a secret Muslim! Obama is a socialist!" isn't going to convince many Dems or even independents without some kind of logic or proof. On the other hand, the candidate himself copping to the S-word is going to raise a lot of eyebrows, especially among the older generations who lived through the Cold War. Most Democrats probably wouldn't care, but there is definitely a chunk that would (you have to remember that not all Democrats are liberal). Same goes for independents who might tolerate liberal policies but draw the line at "Socialism."

It's just an incredibly toxic label in American politics that hasn't fully lost its power from the days of McCarthy, and voluntarily attaching it to yourself--even if it's true--is not smart politics (unless your constituents are into that kind of thing, which might be true in Vermont but certainly isn't true of the US as a whole. At least not yet.)

Cramer works (or worked--I think someone said he's been fired?) for a super PAC which aren't supposed to be in direct communication with a campaign. So him saying, "Hillary wants ducks, we get what she wants," implies direct communication, which is illegal. It doesn't really prove Hillary or her staff are breaking the law though. Also I have a suspicion everyone is breaking these rules, but I don't know enough for that to be anything other than speculation.

Carly Fiorina pushed harder than anyone else with her PAC, actually getting in trouble for the name of her PAC: Carly for America.

It was too blatant. So they changed their name to: CONSERVATIVE, AUTHENTIC, RESPONSIVE LEADERSHIP FOR YOU AND FOR AMERICA

Or CARLY for America.

That was accepted.

Also her campaign and PAC shared a mailing address.

Fiorina also published the campaign's schedule publicly, and her PAC coincidentally showed up to all of those events and provided equipment. They weren't coordinating, the PAC, out of it's own will just showed up like any other organization could have.

Clinton campaign hired people to go to Trump rallies wearing Planned Parenthood shirts which apparently counts as "inciting violence." Apparently also Donald Duck costumes? I haven't watched the latest one.

The second video tries to spin "bussing people who can't drive themselves to polling places" into "voter fraud," pretty much. Someone also mentions that they hire mentally ill people to "do poo poo" but never clarifies what that poo poo is, so maybe they're, like, hiring people to do work like stuffing envelopes and stuff? But anyway O'Keefe assumes they're out beating up Trump supporters so that went in the video.
