It goes back explicitly to at least Fractions's Defenders, and you could probably read it into the 2004 miniseries. That was the first time they paired him up with an inappropriately young co-ed as a sidekick, though I don't think he hooked up with that particular woman.

e: err, that was the 2009 series, not 2004.

Yeah I read Fraction's Defenders and I wondered if it went even way back.

He hooks up with Night Nurse in The Oath and mostly becomes the main character in X-Statix Presents Dead Girl despite never meeting her before the book starts, so that's close to a decade.

I kind of stopped reading monthly issues. Did Aaron ever get around to telling us what Nick Fury said to Thor during Original Sin that made him unworthy?

Nope, but the Odinson just got his own book (titled, appropriately, "The Unworthy Thor") so it'll presumably be answered soon. Then again, Aaron dragged out Jane's reveal for like 8 issues so we'll see.

I was thinking it was something like "There is another more worthy than thou" but theres so many ways to explain that away. I'm not sure I want to know at this point but as others have said, I'd prefer to hear it from Aaron than someone else.

Only two contestants left! Here is Doom's chance for revenge...

Up until recently, everyone assumed that Nick's words were some comment about Asguardians and how they were immortal and never faced any true danger.
But after the last issue we have gotten another potential meaning.

In the last issue it was revealed that Mjolnor is a super God storm that Odin defeated and imprisoned in super chunk or Uru. And that it might be it's own being.
So maybe the secret is that Thor's use of Mjolnor was basically slavery and he didn't know it.
It would also explain why he would go looking for the Ultimate Thor hammer, one that doesn't have a personality inside it.

But thst is just speculation at this point.

It sounds dumb to me, too. Does that mean Odin put a different one in Beta Ray Bill's hammer?

Just heard James Stokoe did/is doing a Moon Knight run!? How many issues in are they and is it possible to still get issues at a sane price?

Long Live The King!

He draws parts of some issues. Moon Knight has multiple personalities and each personality is done by a different artist. Basically amounts to three or four pages a book during the current arc.

Teenage Fansub
Jan 28, 2006

For the last four or so issues in the current arc, the narrative is all mixed up with MK's personalities and Stokoe, Francesco Francavilla and someone else are drawing each one. He has maybe five pages per comic, but it's Moon Knight Wing Commander vs Space Wolves.

e: Serves me right for looking up how to spell Francesco Francavilla.

The 2014 Moon Knight arc is just amazing. I didn't think anybody else would be able to follow up on Ellis' work, but the following writers knocked it out of the park. Weirdly, the arc is completed only when the new Moon Knight series came out and we learned that Moon Knight's enemy is Marvel Comics.
