Just started Astronest. Played for about 10 minutes, lots of clicking. The actual gameplay seems unrewarding for the amount of clicking required. Continue?

I like Dungeon Village, Pocket League Story and Manga Works (as a big weeb) best. I liked all of them to an extent though. I would just pick the ones whose themes appeal to you most.

Only thing bugging me with the trail is i picked the bag that's 20% bigger with the free favours it gives you and its a bag. So doesn't look like my guy auto equipped it as my bag was full. Pretty sure it fell out and someone else grabbed it. Bitches

I'm not sure why but I've tried various others and they all felt frustrating to try to work out what was optimal and what all the points and ratings were and such. Even Pocket League 2 had this problem because they started making you care about the precise layout of your training ground or something like that. That's usually what kills all my enjoyment in a Kairosoft game. Their insane devotion to adjacency bonuses just makes any kind of base building to be a total clusterfuck.

Bitches So one tip as far as inventory because the game doesn't make it obvious and it took me several hours of playing before I figured it out... you can actually stack items. They have to be touching and then it will sort of auto-stack them but sometimes it doesn't work right away or you'll have other items inbetween like items so it won't stack them. I agree with the controls being a little frustrating but the game is brand new so I'm hoping they'll allow for some auto-clicking rather than all the click&drag. Once you have a house and a chest for storing more poo poo the game becomes a lot easier I feel because you can bank the stuff you know you'll need later for quests or whatever while gathering the stuff you have an immediate need for.

Is Mobile Strike a worthwhile game? I started playing it yesterday and holy poo poo it just sucks so far. Just non stop base upgrading and hand holding. The missions are "upgrade your farm" - you accept the mission and then it goes full hand holding tutorial mode press this button now or you can't continue. . . OK, that is fine for the first 2 or 3 missions to learn the ropes, but not 25 "missions" in. There appear to be other missions as well, but starting a combat mission is nothing more than launching a timer, a "basic" mission is 5min, "specialist" mission is 20minutes etc.I have not yet experienced combat beyond send a larger number of troops and instant win. And it also appears that every day is going to be some sort of super mega limited time only sale in the pay store. . . Within the first hour I found the first pay wall that is just straight up "spend at least $20 in the store to upgrade this building". They didn't even have the decency to say "you need 13 butt coins which can ONLY be purchased for $20 in the store. . ." just straight up give us money or you can't upgrade this building. I just can't believe Arnold allowed his name and face to be put something this terrible.

It's amazing what people will do when the check is big enough. Actually it's not. Because yeah. I'm assuming, once you get past the handholding, you're going to hit a point that's basically a paywall.

I don't know when it came out so I might be behind the times on this one, but I'm captivated by Earn To Die 2. At its core, it's one of those drive-as-far-as-you-can-to-earn-money-to-driver farther games, but I'm enjoying it far more than other similar games I've played. The graphics are great (slowly turning a fancy jalope into a Fury Roadster), the controls are simple (no breaking, just acceleration and tweaking your angle), and it's just really fun to soar over a pile of boxes, detonating an explosive barrel with the debris from earlier boxes, all the while a gun auto-fires zombies in your way so you're not slowed down (which almost doesn't matter because you've got a chainsaw on the front of your car). I think it'd be a bit more annoying on your phone, but on my tablet everything is big and easy to control. MisterBibs fucked around with this message at 01:06 on Nov 8, 2016 |

It's really stupid and fun. The basic gameplay loop is a transparent grind of "play a level, get money, upgrade car so you can get farther" but mastering the systems of upgrading and driving is still pretty fun. I did give up after a couple hours of play time, though, because I felt like the driving difficulty had ramped up a bit too quickly and I didn't care to practice over and over on whatever sections of that level kept tripping me up. I thought it was pretty satisfying while it lasted, though!

I like what I played so far. As the reviews suggest its very much a Star Wars Clash Royale but with a zoomed in view (to its detriment IMO) and you spawn regular units on your hero. Like Royale you also unlock/level them up by accuring cards by opening packs. Matchmaking is nowhere near as quick as Royale but I assume that's probably due to the tiny userbase at the moment.

For those of you, who like me, wanted Animation Throwdown to be better, I'll chime in to say I think it seems like drop rates have been tweaked and the "watch ads to boost drop rate" feature is actually working now. I've started to get a ton more of the character tokens and have gotten a decent amount of blue cards from rego packs. They also added in items to refill stamina and arena energy that you can get as drops. It's cool, too, because if you were an early adopter and played in the first month, you get a permanent buff to your research speed (things that would have taken 24 hours take 6, 6 takes 2, etc...) Worth jumping back into.

I didn't see it posted but Guardian Codex, SquareEnix's sequel to the card battler Guardian Cross, came out a few days ago. It's not bad, feels like a mix of Dragon Quest and Digimon of all things, thematically at least. You get three dudes, a fourth friend, and go dungeon crawling in a virtual simulation of what I think is the Guardian Cross world. The biggest complaint I have is the monsters don't feel that much different from each other other then "bulky attacker", "healer", and "aoe attacker". Also they love to toss stages that are several levels above you in the middle of your low-level dungeon. Sidequests aren't well explained either, for instance, I have one that tells me to explore an area I've already cleared...am I supposed to clear it all again? A certain stage? Which one? It also is using a lot of assets from Deadman's Cross; the menus basically feel the same. Translation is okay, feels like the same team from Deadman's worked on this. Multiplayer exists, but boy is it lovely; rather then disconnect a player who is lagging, and there always is someone lagging, you will be sitting there forever until they catch up...and this happens every turn. Which sucks, because you can get 5000 coins (a free 10 pull from the gacha) by doing multiplayer. I rerolled and got 2 5* Guardians, which is neat and all, but it still feels difficult to progress - and one of those is a healer too, so you'd think it'd be super easy. I'll give it some more time but I'm pretty mixed on this one.

There isn't that much strategy you can do though. You can also only gain rewards from fighting against other opponents or spending :tenbux: and your other opponents can basically bring whatever they want to the fight so you can imagine what that's going to be like in the future. The games are short and sweet (Less than 3 minutes) but if you're fighting a whale, it'll always end with their Vader and some troops just walking over yours purely because of the difference in stats.
