The best Blade cgi is when they made it look like his eyes were open, when in reality he refused to open them.

Snipes' twitter kicks rear end. He's just insanely positive 99% of the time except when he needs to drop a sick burn on someone and he responds to pretty much everyone who wants to talk to him in a p. genuine way

Holy poo poo Dr.Strange was really good. I am surprised - they did such a great job with it. How the hell does a loving cape become so amazing? I guess.... well, the rug from Aladdin was awesome too. So it takes a brilliant animation team.

Best part of Doctor Strange was that Chiwetel Ejiofor's artifact of choice was a pair of boots.

My favorite thing about the Doctor Strange movie other than the 3D and trippy scenes is that it's basically a martial arts movie. I must say it reminds me a lot of the Green Lantern movie, with its cocky protagonist, an army of warriors with standard-issue magic rings and Dormammu being a huge cloud face at the end.

Wesley Snipes seems like he would be amazing to work with because he is just the right balance of mentally unstable enough to be completely unpredictable, but probably not mentally unstable enough to endanger your life. He and Hideo Kojima occupy some unknown space narrowly squeezed between genius and legitimately mentally ill.

Other Comic News Tidbits from today / the weekend: - Dr. Strange had an $85 million opening weekend. About $15 million higher than projected. - Universal is making a live-action Voltron movie written by David Hayter for an early 2018 release. - The Sandman Movie (that is totally getting made this time, we swear!) just had the writer quit. - The Aquaman solo movie started Pre-Production this week. - Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Doctor Strange, Star Wars: Rogue One) will do the score for Spider-Man: Homecoming - Doctor Strange is in Thor: Ragnarok. No word on how big a role it is, but sources say it is an extended cameo. - "American Psycho" Author Bret Easton Ellis says he had dinner with WB executives who complained about problems with the upcoming Batman solo movie's script. Take with a grain of salt since it is second hand. quote:And they were just telling me that there are serious problems with the script. And that the executives I was having dinner with were complaining about people who work on the Batman movie. And they just said they went to the studio and they said, ‘Look, the script is … Here’s 30 things that are wrong with it that we can fix.’ And [the executives] said, ‘We don’t care. We don’t really care. The amount of money we’re going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English. And it doesn’t really matter, these things that you’re bringing up about the flaws of the script.’ So I do think global concerns play a big part in how movies, and what movies, are being made, obviously.” Leon Trotsky 2012 fucked around with this message at 16:16 on Nov 7, 2016 |

Bummer if true, but a little garbled... he was having dinner with WB executives who were telling him they don't care when people working on the movie come to them to complain about the script? Or the dinner executives tried to complain to studio executives? Too many pronouns...

I liked Dr. Strange. My wife felt that Benedict Cumberbatch should really not do the quips, he sounds like he's just reciting them. Whereas RDJ sells that he's just spontaneously riffing them off. It really was a fun, visually appealing film and I'm glad I saw it in 3D.
