no, it's definitely making me introspective: i am one of the liberal elites. i don't have any loving clue what the average american wants. i assumed that the majority of the country would hold their nose and vote for continued slight improvements instead of hitching their wagon to a burning train and riding it right off the rails but i was misinformed.

Just because you get a job in Canada its not like you immediately become a citizen, or lose your American citizenship. It takes the better part of a decade and by then if we do it at all we'd have kids in school and will have settled in and would probably be willing to commit at that point. Basically my point was: it doesn't seem that much different from moving to another state, something Americans are already doing in droves, going from rural to urban tech centers. Going from Louisiana to Seattle was probably a bigger cultural shift than Seattle to Vancouver BC
