Bovril Delight posted:I tried listening to athletico mince and I'm a little confused on the whole corbyn thing can someone fill me in Aah. I'm glad you asked. As a bit of an expert on British politics, it will be easy for me to explain. Corbyn is the wholly unremarkable man who is the head of the labour party, which is the big communist/socialist party in the UK. Most British people consider themselves to be 'socialist' so the internal workings of the labour party are very important to them. They can't get enough of it. As Corbyn is very incapable in every sense, some people oppose him being the top man of the party(not sure about this but I think that's the gist of it.) I think, the conflict of him being the main socialist man has caused a lot of banter and made Corbyn well known despite not having done anything. Sorry, I though I could write something funny but actually only wrote that. At least it's all true.

Same could be said about them considering recording what would be said if Arsenal won and said it'd never happen.

I know strictly speaking this is the podcast thread, but as most of it gets put out as downloads anyway it still counts; I think BBC 5 Live has definitively the best content out there, both in terms of analysis and punditry, but also in the commentary and the overall volume and quality of output. To be fair they do have a virtual monopoly on what they do, with the exception of TalkSport which usually just seems to be thick drunkards shouting at each other, but the fact that they manage to put out such consistently engaging and enjoyable football material is quite a marvel, really. Also I've got a weird mancrush on Mark Chapman so that helps.

My fiancée heard me listening to it the other day whilst I was doing the washing up and surmised 'so you just listen to these two chat poo poo for an hour?' She is from Gloucestershire though so may not appreciate the full spectrum of humour coming through north eastern vocal chords Am I to assume they're taking a break while Bob tours? Wanted to see them in Blackpool this Saturday but can't get it off work.
