In the Slightly Cloudy Moonlight Solo Who Cares About Morn? The Adequate Ferengi I don't see how you can like Star Trek and not accept superhero shows as sci-fi. People with mind reading powers, shooting power beams, phasing through walls, time travel, dimensional travel, nonsensical technobabble, aliens, robots, rogue AIs, geeky scientists pulling solutions out of their butts at the last minute. Speaking of superhero shows and Trek, what do I need to do to get an Avery Brooks cameo on Luke Cage?

CBS makes shitloads of money with broadest appeal comedies, procedurals, and their spin-offs. They could give a gently caress about Trek nerds.

Rhyno posted:89 new replies in the Trek thread! I bet we have a casting announcement! Just lmbo if you think we're getting any casting news this year. My prediction; in late-december we hear from a reliable source that Discovery has been massively scaled back or reworked following Fuller's departure. I'm betting on three major characters, max. Reduced episode order, no guarantee of a second season. Count on lots of soundbites from CBS Execs saying "Well, it's an experiment, so we'll have to see how it performs."

It's worth repeating that the season is already fully paid for. They could release a 30 clip of Micheal Dorn growling at the camera and as long as one person subscribed to see it, they made money. By the same token though, episode order likely can't be scaled back without violating their Netflix agreement.

PenguinKnight posted:Shaka, his pants brown I recently started a full series re-watch of TNG and I've been unemployed so I've been plowing through the episodes during the day. My wife stayed home from work sick one day last week and has never watched any star trek before. This was the first episode of TNG she's ever been exposed to and she saw it right from the middle and her reaction was "what the gently caress is this poo poo?" Good poo poo.

Thanks to the goon who gave me the short list of VOY's first 3 seasons, I'm about halfway through S2. What I'm watching is good stuff, and I don't hate the show. However, what the loving gently caress is up with Seska giving herself a Chakobabe? Completely threw me and I almost did a spit take.
