I saw a video come up in my recommended list called "will Infinity Train save Cartoon Network" and it's not the first video I've seen that seems to think that CN is in big trouble which confuses the hell out of me because their current lineup is still probably the best it's ever been with even the weaker ones being okay. Like am I missing something or is this just the internet being dumb because there's a few shows on they don't like?

CN has been moving away from the twee sprawling serialized fantasy epic format after Stephen Universe, almost everything they've done since then has been a lot more episodic and comedy driven. I can see how the people who are super invested in that format might be feeling left out, even if I'm glad to have more shows that are just fun and funny without having season-long arcs and sprawling interconnected tragic backstories for every character, and the pilots they showed seemed to be promising a return to that somewhat.

I'm a bit late on the Disney XD channel discussion, but this show is gonna be airing through it sometime during 2017. Yes, another 3D-to-2D adaption... But trust me on this that us in the animation department are making it look pretty darn good. http://www.corusent.com/properties/hotel-transylvania-television-series/

Macaluso posted:How long has Phineas and goddamned Ferb had absolutely legit fuckin songs?? They have a couple of CDs of the best songs from the show. They were in heavy rotation for a good year or so whenever I had to drive somewhere with my kids when they were younger. It's a shame that the theme song to Milo Murphy's Law is so godawful. It feels like ever since P&F ended, it might as well have not existed as far as the Disney channel lineups are concerned. That seems so weird to me considering that they had it airing multiple times per day for a few years at least. raditts fucked around with this message at 03:42 on Nov 10, 2016 |

I love everything about that one. Richard Horvitz in a bit of a new kind of role for him. A weird premise. Economics (price gouging and a market panic!) and ecology. I like the music and style too. I hope it gets picked up.

Adventure Time meets Captain Planet. Yeah okay I can get behind that. I'm not a fan of the animation, though. I'm sure it'll look more refined if it gets picked up for a series, so hopefully I'll like it better then. Pakled fucked around with this message at 04:17 on Nov 11, 2016 |

It's basically just adventure time again. That's okay I guess. Maybe it can do adventure time better. Like maybe not be about a bunch of bored depressed characters or focusing on relationship problems and all that. Nice to hear Zim again.

Milo Murphy's Law is pretty good. It doesn't have as much of a formula as P&F did, and it's using that freedom to its advantage. It looks like there's even a weird background plot building up with the pistachio guys. A bit of a weird premise too, but they're making it work. It's strange that Weird Al is voicing the main character of a cartoon after all he's ever done before are cameos as one-off characters.

I dunno, it's not grabbing me the same way P&F did. I used to go out of my way to watch P&F (and pretty much had to, since they'd schedule new episodes on random days at random times), but I'd probably only watch Milo if it was on and there wasn't something else I'd rather watch.

In an interesting bit of news, The Pokemon Company announced today that the broadcast rights for all 19 seasons of the Pokemon anime, the movies, and the upcoming Sun & Moon season are now in Disney XD's hands instead of Cartoon Network. Apparently, TPC was displeased with how CN treated the anime, and I can see that. They pretty much just put it at the rear end end of the morning and nowhere else.

I didn't say it was impossible, I just didn't think they could seemingly not do this badly on Action. But I guess with Young Justice Season 3 as their outlet for angst, this show has a real chance for peak Timverse style zen. And if that was the case, holy gently caress, DC planned something well?!
