This doesn't even sound too bad. We could encourage the rebuilding of the US Space efforts with national security as justification, and use it to minimize physical borders. I'm sure one could think of other ways to redirect or reperpose similar ideas.

Yeah, seems like a smart wall would do well anyway. That Boeing plan would probably work better now, and a new proposal would probably learn from its failures.

As it is, a wall just doesn't seem in the cards.

Even those who yes man trump are gonna bring up better ideas to control the us/mexico border and trumps gonna either say 'sure do that other thing then' or lose interest.

There are things that are bad, and things that are bad and pointless which the people in power have no real reason to want.

A wall was probably never in the cards.

Yeah. Was The wall thing really that big for conservatives? It does seem like people don't really care about mexican's having jobs, as much as they care about themselves NOT having one.

I think people only worry about mexican's having jobs in relation to it depriving them of one.

which sounds basically sounds like people don't actually care about thumbing others eye's, unless it benefits them.

As it is, people just want a livelyhood. I think the Democrats could find something good for folks to do.

When I think about it, we could totally just create governmental organizations that work as a singular organism that can act as a national healthcare provider. Cutting off the idea of 'big government' by organizing the government in ways that are easier for people to understand.

the whole point of the wall is to be a big physical imposing thing that Trump can take pictures in front of and point to and tell chucklefucks in Ohio "hey I built the thing and now we're safer". building a cyberwall might as well be doing nothing in the eyes of Trump's voters

He could totally take a picture next to a satellite before it gets put into space. Or better yet, a picture next to a space shuttle, while being in an astronaut suit.

You think Trump could resist dressing up as an astronaut if he thought about it?

The manger babies don't have feelings. You said it yourself.
The wall is a gimme to Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the talk radio right. Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43 didn't want it because they know that the Latin@ population in the US is growing and they don't want to be locked out of that demographic a'la California after Prop 187. The wall street right likes having undocumented immigration because undocumented immigrants are easy for businesses to exploit, since they have the sword of damocles that is deportation hanging over them.

On the other hand, the talk radio right has been full of nativists for a long loving time and those guy really want the wall, and that who most of the GOP base is listening to and a lot of them turned on the Republicans in 2006 in response to Bush's immigration reform plan.

I don't think we need to go that far at all. People didn't really care about e-mails, that was probably because they felt the need to throw something back what with all the stuff hill was sending over. They couldn't care less about them if they thought ignoring them would get them jobs.

I don't really think people hate the military honestly. I think people hate what politician's use the military for. The military of the united states seems to do fine, at least when you compare it to the military of other nations.

It is far more flexible, and has plenty of ability to change.

I don't think Trump really has policies. He is pretty mutable. We just have to worm our way into his presence. There is probably more room to do good with president trump than with president pence, even if trump is also more liable to especially bad ideas.

Omg what if america became like GI Joe combined with the planeters. This would be much harder than I'm making it out to be but it would be cool. I think people would totally like to imagine becoming superheroes. It would tickle a lonely part of the american consciousness which has been ignored too long to get to feel like that again.

As it is. The idea of a peaceful work corp would be amazing. The idea could be floated by anyone, and while republicans would be loathe to do so, I think it would be a good way to give them an out.

Honestly it sounds like rather than creating a physical wall, it would be more useful to make a wall of sensors, so that while people can cross the border unhindered, they can't do it unnoticed.

Tag them with a sattelite system, then have local law enforcement pull the money out.

This sounds like a better idea than a physical wall anyway.

It sounds kind of cool, and like it could be useful for something else at least.

The problem with setting up a common fund is that it becomes easy enough to dip in to with the states involved. Not to mention that, technically, borders are a federal issue and not a state one.
