cool. 17 is a good price for it. thats exactly what it costs to buy a copy and resell it to amazon (30 purchase, 13 trade in)

You can eventually shift the encounter rate around a bit (by the endgame you can instantly summon encounters or prevent them outright), but not immediately. You need to have Digimon of specific evolution levels or types to adjust the encounter rate.

I don't recall the encounter rate ever being too high, but it's been a while.

Why would they ever change it when idiots keep buying those games?

That's a series that they've just squeezed every last ounce of quality out and now it's pure cynical garbage.

Yeah for real. I don't get the appeal of rear end creed one bit. It's such a cool idea for a story (time travelling assassin!!) with the most boring run of the mill implementation ever. I played a bit of syndicate and was bored to tears.

accept the apparently immutable fact that Assassin’s Creed’s controls are a jumble of garbage. They were abysmal when the first game launched in 2007, and they have remained abysmal for eight subsequent sequels. I am here today to ask: Must this be the case? Must it be a given that one of the biggest video game series in the world is a complete pain in the rear end to play?

Within five minutes of firing up a new Assassin’s Creed, I guarantee that your on-screen avatar will do some poo poo you didn’t want them to do. Tell him to climb a wall, and he’ll leap to a nearby lamppost. Tell her to sneak past a guard, and she’ll run out into plain sight. Extrapolate those five minutes over the 30-odd hours it takes to complete one of these games, and even the most patient gamer will start to wonder why the hell a multinational, megabucks video game publisher like Ubisoft has allowed this to persist.

If you fired up Syndicate and gave the controller to someone who’d never played an Assassin’s Creed game, they would likely have some pointed questions for you. Questions like, “Why does the right trigger cause me to run? Does that also cause me to climb? What happens if I just hold down the trigger but no buttons? Also, how do I jump?”

Titanfall 2's single player campaign was also excellent, though probably pricier than DOOM at this point, which is also great.

If I am understanding the description correctly, the PS4 FFF game is a remake of the first with some combat changes. I haven't played it but if that's true then it's better that you haven't played the original

comedy option Gunscape

oh right, you said GOOD. Well in addition to what's been mentioned you may consider some stuff that isn't quite pure shooter like Farcry 4, Dishonored, or Sniper Elite 3. Doom is probably the most traditional option though. Plus you can go to Snapmap and play some of the worst poo poo made by humans at no extra charge

I've never seen them change a flash sale mid sale before, it only changes while they're loading the poo poo into the system the first few hours

Crazy random changes at off times usually only happen for pricing errors

Same. Hitman owns so far though. I still wish Jesper Kyd was on board or that each location had foreign language voice acting (MGSV spoiled me), but everything else about it rules. I turned off Opportunities and the x-ray vision feature right at the start. It's fun figuring out all the different murder possibilities on your own, though I still don't know what the vampire magician outfit in Paris does.

So Wolfenstein was good when it actually let you shoot people, which wasn't often enough because half the game is like wandering around in sewers or fetching poo poo for people around your base

Woop, i picked a great time to pick up a PS4 it seems.

Not only did i get ratchet and clank, and the Nathan drake collection for like £12 each earlier in the week, but i just picked up killzone and the 2 infamous games for a total of £24 too!

Is my timing just really good (as in i'm 2 years late to the console so all the old stuff is really cheap/black friday) or are there just really good sales all the time?

They have a lot of pretty good sales. Especially on big releases that have been out for a while and they're just trying to milk more money out of. Infamous, for example, is on sale more often than it's not (and still one of my favourite PS4 games). I think that's the cheapest I've seen it though.

Also, as QoP pointed out yesterday, our (EU) Xmas sales are better than our Black Friday sales, so save some money for that. That's when you're most likely to see bigger drops on newer releases. Our digital prices tend to suck though, so you'll often have big discounts, but it'll still cost a lot more than getting a new physical copy off Amazon or something.

Can't think of a Ubi DLC I'd actually give a strong recommend to.

It's pretty drat shady to not advertise that a piece of DLC automatically comes with the base game, only advertising it in the expansion pack or else the "deluxe" edition. Especially when the rest of the expansion pack/deluxe content is otherwise just skins and and premium currency.

Man, Assassin's Creed Syndicate is kind of annoying me right out the gate.

So you get two big flashy opening missions and that's cool but the first time I step into the open world and start doing poo poo I end up having to kidnap a guy in the middle of a tiny loving zone with no cover and a half dozen dudes who aggro loving instantly as soon as they see me. In fact, everybody aggros super fast in this game. I get that previous titles were kind of insultingly easy after a time, but I think I preferred that to feeling like attempting stealth is a waste of time.

I'm hoping they just ended up throwing a lovely mission in at the start, but all of the controls are different and combat is harder too and I am not sure these are particularly good changes.

Once you get on your way with skills it's considerably more fun, it's rough at the start though. The kidnapping missions without any upgrades at all are pretty bad.

You can always just kill basically everyone but your target and/or spook your target and just grab them as they're leaving the zone.

When you have the guy just move very slow and the detection zone is pretty manageable.

I didn't realize that the bosses in Alien Hunters were not part of the core game, and I kinda regret the sheer amount of time I had to spend save scumming my way past them, because those dudes were hard as gently caress. Once active, they get to react to every single action one of your guys takes, whether it has anything to do with those bosses or not. They'll pop up in a mission, and then once you run them off they'll show up in later ones, again and again until you can drag them down. I still haven't beaten the Archon variant, he's just so frustrating.

Don't think I've installed the Shen's Last Gift one, so maybe I'm screwing myself with subpar tech for the new challenge or something.
