They are actually slightly superior in some ways but sacrifice the high-output weaponry of the Gundam for something reliable and usable by basically anyone. The Beam Spray Guns are much shittier than beam rifles but even the beam spray gun can punch through Zaku/Dom armor. Their big weakness is they're less effective at long ranges but due to Minovsky Interference anyone who isn't a Newtype generally isn't fighting at long range anyway. I will defend Biscuit Griffon because I find it plausible that common English words describing delicious food would become names for the lower classes in the grim darkness of future mars. ...It's a bit ridiculous that his entire family would be named like that. But one or two characters? Yeah, I can believe it.
