The Dark Souls KS kinda looked like it might fit the bill, but talk of the gameplay made it sound like a dud. Anything else out there? You can try Privateer Press' The Undercity. I make less than 800 pink money (40 dollaritos) a month as a goat herd so I'd have to live off grass, scorpions, cardboard and loamy sandwater for a year or so before buying Kingdom Death's miniatures full set but hell if I wouldn't buy and J/O to them if I could. I managed to snag a $50 off the core game spot. Not sure if i'll end up using it but I'm kind of leaning that way. The game itself looks like my groups style and there's nothing objectionable to me in the base set. I mean its very expensive but with the world ending one way or another its worth a roll of the dice.

I guess I'm not surprised it's failed to fund twice.

But good game + bad marketing + unengaging KS project equals no money.

It doesn't hurt that it's asking for $34k as a completely new studio whose only previous project was the same thing, estimated at more that twice the cost, and failed then too. Getting that kind of money requires a magic cross section of luck and great marketing and trust.

It's a d6 pool beat-a-TN system, but there's some old RPG design flotsam in there like artistic skills. There's no real mechanical "hook" that does anything interesting or covers anything outside what amounts to dungeon crawling. Really it's nothing we haven't seen before.

The idea of Dark Souls + Monster Hunter as a campaign minis game is a pretty cool one, and they have talented artists. But it's one of those properties that mistakes vulgarity for maturity, and doesn't have a consistent tone as a result. It's hard to invest emotionally in the grim struggle for survival in the face of poo poo-eating and dick-stealing... and that's before we get into porn minis. They obviously enjoy doing porny minis, and that's not bad in and of itself. However, you have the issue that they were originally put alongside imagery of women being victimized with heavy sexual overtones, in an industry that already has trouble depicting women as more than cleavage stands. You also have the whole thing where the pinup minis are "non-canon" despite being notably used to market the game... a bit of wanting to have it both ways. "See, you can play Kingdom Death for the articles." I mean, say what you want about Soda Pop, at least they own being anime creeps. It's not the 25mm tits alone that makes KD:M offputting, after all. If nothing else, a game that markets itself with the word "boutique" while seeking to produce dung beetle-themed pinups deserves a raised eyebrow at the very least.

I'll give you that hitting monsters in the dick is dumb but pinups are not reccomended for play because they are resin and real fragile, not because the guy is being sly.

That reminds me that the studio that did titty warham miniatures "Toughest Girls of the Galaxy" announced their next kickstarter is going to be terrain and then a follow up to TGG sometime next year. Then they announced they're going to split the terrain KS into three separate kickstarters, starting with gothic church terrain. There's something about going from making high heels wearing big breasts space elves to churches that makes me giggle.

If buying something other people find distasteful makes you a bad person it devalues the evilness of stealing from charity. Buying the miniature you described makes you kind of hosed up (at least socially, if you're putting that poo poo where other people can see it), but not a bad person. If the guy who makes it is a nazi or something, than maybe you could make a case against buying products you want from him making you a bad person. We're not saying sex is bad, we're saying that using dismembered, sexualized women's body parts as game pieces is disgusting and unacceptable. So yeah, come the gently caress on. Normalizing and endorsing violence against women has a huge negative outcome in society. This is what makes people think its okay to beat their partners, which makes men think it's okay to injure or murder women who won't date or have sex with them, so forth and so on. Sexualized violence against women is a massive, actual real-life problem.
