I don't know what the best highway rpm is for a 350, but it seems like the truck might do freeways without drinking all the gas between Nebraska and Florida. Admittedly, once the fastback is loaded into the bed, we're looking at around 4+ tons total weight, so it might need some leadup.

I have the new one sitting on my kitchen counter. Also 2 jugs of unmixed coolant and access to RO water. I work at 7pm so I'm about to drive over to where the shop I work on my truck is, park my car on the lift, and go sleep in the house for a few hours before rendering my car incapable of driving me to work. My blower motor failed 2 winters ago when it was averaging -15C. Took 3 days to get it in and the only way my windshield would defrost involved wiping it down several times and maintaining a speed of at least 50km/h. The new motor is already starting to make noise and on really cold days I have to hit it with the lug wrench to make it spin. Non-zero chance it will fail this winter. This is the car's 4th in 11 years.

It sounds like it will make it either way. Not like L05s are delicate flowers, it can totally handle sub-4k rpm for a few days to make it home. And probably another 200k miles after that, too. What's current status on the headers vs steering box issue? That worries me.
