mentholmoose posted:If you want pick 42 I'd do that deal. What's your definition of okay, not great player? I will consider trading, but at that point I probably wont have a huge need for anyone left on the board, so I will need to see whats there at that point. For an additional player I was thinking someone decent from my minors.

Milt Thompson posted:The thing is, I don't know whether you have anyone available that I can use in his place. I mean, this is my catcher situation: 1) Buster Posey, who I'd rather not trade 2) Rick Ferrell, who I'm definitely not trading 3) Ray Schalk, who I'd totally trade 4) Todd Hundley, who I'd totally trade Schalk is a perfectly cromulent third catcher, which is all you need behind Torre and York, and Hundley could hypothetically cover a bit of the outfield should you so desire. I don't know what you'd want as a hypothetical throw-in.

In printing, but not necessarily in informal script. (though I believe in that case, it should have been a superscripted "e," Pete Ladd may want to stick to pitching)

Just so I have some idea of what to potentially offer for pick 20, is the premods current gimmick pre-liveball playes as a whole or more specific to a certain era? I do have some 19 century guys I can move

1880-1910, more or less. Though there is a "funny" "loophole" that will eventually arise, I suspect.

The Merry Marauder posted:1880-1910, more or less. Rather than offering "good" players from that time frame, would you consider "a lot of" players from that time frame? Namely the entire 1897 Louisville Colonols minus Rube Waddell, Honus Wagner, Fred Clarke and Perry Werden, and the 1907 NY Highlanders minus Al Orth, Jack Chesbro, Slow Joe Doyle, Earl Moore, Clarke Griffith, Deacon McGuire, Jimmy Williams, Kid Elberfeld, Tom Hughes, and Willie Keeler. 40 players are better than 1 player imo.

Bat is underwhelming, but he can make contact. 1902 Joe Sudgen (31) - Rated as the best defensive catcher of his era, will absolutely shut down running games. Can't hit. 1902 John Anderson (28) - Switch-hitting first baseman with excellent speed and baserunning prowess. Can also play a fine LF with a rocket arm. 1902 Emmet Heidrick (25) - Rangy CF with a gun for an arm, excellent contact skills and fastest man alive for his era with base-running skills. He'd get more burn if current backup Max Carey didn't make him redundant.

I figure I should try this again and actually give more than 2 hours' notice in a weird timezone: Hey Gingemidget, remember when I offered you my first rounder for Sandberg + Smoltz? Well, I don't have quite as good an offer this time, but here's a thing: My 2nd rounder and your choice of 95 Tom Henke (old; a gamble on whether he'll do well) or 95 Todd Worrell (also old, but not literally his last year; much lower ceiling, somewhat higher floor) For Sandberg + Smoltz also, some incarnation of marauder (I think the main account?): check your PMs.
