Already seen mentions of it, but it's too late to get any songs from Rock Band 2, 3 and Blitz? I used to have the RB2 and Blitz songs, but those were on a gamertag I long lost. Not that it would be easy to get those songs back if they were still around since I don't even have a 360 anymore to use the export feature to get those and RB3 if that was available.

3 you can buy the export for $15 (every song) if it detects you've played the game on the account trying to buy it. Blitz I'm not sure if the export functions anymore from the game, but all the songs are individual DLC. 2 you're S.O.L. except for some reason they re-licensed "Chop Suey!" as stand-alone DLC for this week so who knows??? In all 3 cases you're gonna have to buy it again unless you recover the old gamertag and start using it instead.

This is Harmonix testing the profitability of relicensed legacy songs from expired exports. It's something they get constant community pleas for. So, I'm sure this is old news, but has anyone else on Xbone had issues with any of the older exports? I'd exported RB2 into RB3 way back when, but for some reason my RB2 export isn't recognized by my Xbone. I'm not sure why that'd be a one-off thing I'd experience but few others; what'd be the best way to try to fix that? Gamestop (and Amazon) have the Rock Band 4 Rivals Guitar + Game combo for $40 this week, with the band bundle being $100. Since my RB4 bundle I got from Gamestop was less then two weeks ago, I was able to return it and get the Rivals version instead. Also was able to get ahold of a 360 so I got RB3 and Blitz tracks now.  Kinda hope Blitz gets BC someday so I can play it instead of buying it to get the songs from it, as i did enjoy it when I had it on my lost gamertag. [edit] I forgot how to play Rock Band, as it been so long since I played the game. Can't find the basic tutorial as the only ones I see are for Free Style Mode. I'd love a Blitz sequel, but that game had even tighter timing than main RB, and frame-gaming more or less died with this laggy floaty console generation.

This week's challenge made me realize that just about zero metal bands start with The. I filtered by genre and ended up with 2 metal songs. At the Gates and The Haunted. Kind of amusing. In other news, gently caress the DLC this week.

Sorry they're putting songs in from one of the most popular bands in the US at the moment, I guess, but let's not pretend that they aren't putting out DLC with "real instruments." There's been at least a dozen bands with songs that feature traditional rock band instruments between October and now covering a decent range of tastes. I don't like Twenty One Pilots either but c'mon, set aside personal taste for a second and consider why these songs are making it into the game.

I don't like them at all but they're incredibly popular and will likely sell well. That'll give Harmonix money to do other things, rather than releasing a 3 pack from The New Pornographers, making no money, and doing less RB related stuff.

I don't get the popular argument for 21 Pilots DLC. I understand they're huge, I hear them literally every time I'm in the car. But Rock Band 4 is a niche game for  like us. I don't see anyone talking about it anymore. I can't imagine that there are THAT many people out there who said, "Yes, I'd like to spend $200 on a giant plastic game to recapture some of that 2009 nostalgia!" Especially newer players. So those of us who play the game are likely those who have played for nearly a decade now and we are mostly stickler assholes for "real music." Maybe the game sold way better than we would figure but I will literally never buy 90% of the DLC they've put out in the past six months, but if they got a halfway decent dad-rock pack or some more Soundgarden or this or that or whatever, I would VERY much be inclined to buy it on release.Obviously I'm in a minority since they have marketing data to back their plans up but honestly I regret my Rock Band 4 purchase.
