Yes, just found this thread on Smogon and Parting Shot seems the way to go (and super bullshit-y!). Persian-Alola @ Darkinium-Z Ability: Fur Coat EVs: 228 HP / 28 Def / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Foul Play - Taunt - Parting Shot - Toxic/Roar Definitely gonna play around with this. Didn't know what Parting Shot was, but it looks awesome.

Mizuti posted:Have people been figuring out ideal teams for the Battle Tree yet? I'd really like some ideas to work with. "Ideal" would probably be taking poo poo that's strong enough to be banned in competitive but not legendary/banned in the Tree, but it's not so unforgiving as to warrant that. I imagine most people are using what they like. For inspiration's sake (and, if anyone else cares to, criticism), my current team for Tree doubles is: Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay Ability: Snow Warning EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Aurora Veil - Encore - Freeze-Dry - Moonblast Sandslash-Alola @ Life Orb Ability: Slush Rush EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Night Slash - Iron Head - Icicle Crash - Swords Dance Mimikyu @ Red Card Ability: Disguise EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Shadow Claw - Shadow Sneak - Play Rough Golisopod @ Assault Vest Ability: Emergency Exit EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Adamant Nature - First Impression - Leech Life - Liquidation - Sucker Punch

Is there a wiki or something where I can find opinions on the usefulness of various pokemon and their movesets? All of the obvious wikis just contain the facts and not any reviews. Sometimes I just stop playing and open my phone to search for information when my pokemon is learning a new move and I'm not sure what to do with it or the others. This would bother me less if the move tutor wasn't found so late in the game. I suppose I should just not worry about it so much since I'm not interested in competitive play.

Taunt has been a gamechanger for me in the current meta because of Trick Room and Instruct being foundations of a lot of poo poo Fur Coat is pretty fuckin rad Inverness posted:Is there a wiki or something where I can find opinions on the usefulness of various pokemon and their movesets? If you're not going to play VGC or on the Battle Spot then for non Battle Tree PVE just figure out if your friend is a physical or special attacker and run - Best STAB move for their attack type - Coverage move for their attack type - Status inflicting move - Status raising move In 99% of PVE stuff in the main game you'll be OHKOing everything anyway

Inverness posted:What do you mean by coverage move? I assume this is about having variety in your attack types among your team? Basically, you want something that can hit Pokemon who your main STAB is not effective against. A good example is using Earthquake and Stone Edge, as Stone Edge is good against flying types who don't care about Earthquake, and in general one of those is going to hit either super effective or at least neutrally against the majority of Pokemon. felch me daddy jr. fucked around with this message at 17:23 on Dec 5, 2016 |

I've gotten a 50 streak with a DD Mega Gyarados, a Life Orb Garchomp and a Z-Conversion Porygon-Z. If you annihilate the opponent before they can even hit you, then you'll win most matches pretty easily.

Just remember that Magearna is a gift legendary, so Synchronize works with it 100% of the time. You won't have to soft reset for the nature you want as long as you have the right Synchronizer.

I've been jamming Mega Metagross in the first slot, and he rips through most teams pretty easily; Xurkitree and Tapu Lele are my backups. Xurkitree comes in reasonably often, Tapu Lele is pretty rare.

Took me 700 eggs, but at least I was rewarded with good IVs and the right ability. Team progress: 5/6. In completely unrelated news, I now have a box full of perfect IV Drampas if anyone wants one. Your choice of 6IV, 5IV with 0 Attack, 5IV with 0 Speed for Trick Room, and at least with the two first ones I have plenty of both Berserk and Sap Sipper ones. felch me daddy jr. fucked around with this message at 19:02 on Dec 5, 2016 |
