I also want to know how old her husband is. She's a young 18 judging by the timeline. Obviously all the stuff with the kids is hosed up but does she ever sound entitled with the way she talks about her space being invaded. She lives rent free with her grandparents!

Strangely, it sounds to me like those children needs to be in that house more than OP and her husband because where the hell else would they be otherwise? And that scares me. Hope the aunt and her children get the intensive help and care they clearly need.

Anyway, from r/legaladvice :stare:

(Montreal, Canada) Isn't there a law about pedophilia where something like if they're 5 years older and one is a minor and the other a major it's considered pedophilia or something?
Can't find any details on this on the Internet, strangely, so I came here to find a quick and easy answer, if anybody knows. I heard this some time ago or something along those lines but I'm starting to doubt it.
Can anyone confirm?
Thanks

Definitely sounds like some creepy older guy wants to prey on a younger girl to me! Nothing suspicious about any of that at all

It's the second one plus rising social norms, 40 years ago it wasn't seen as weird at all to be an alcoholic who beat your kids depending on where you lived

It's the same effect where society is trending to be less violent, but people keep thinking it's more violent due to increased exposure.

America is also very unique compared to most well developed countries where there isn't a really good social safety net so it's a lot easier to gently caress yourself over really hard.

quote:

Me [31M] with my wife [32F] recently married after 7 years together, marriage is awful

Hello. My wife and I got married last year after seven years together. I am starting to think I've made a terrible mistake because being married just isn't that much fun at all.

We've had sex three times since getting married, I've given up trying to initiate sex because she won't. Every time I do try there is a reason why it can't happen, and that reason is usually my fault: you've not showered, your penis smells, you will make me dirty, you didn't come to bed early enough. I try and rectify the so-called faults and still nothing, the moment has passed etc.

She found porn on my computer and freaked out, deleted everything and told me the things I was looking at were disgusting and perverted (I think mainly the names of the porn studios, think words like 'legal' and '18' although it all came from KAT). So now I am having to secretly masturbate and cover my tracks but am still not permitted to have sex.

I've found myself looking up ex-girlfriends and crushes on social media, I've consider talking to them but I don't want to be the cheating married guy.

Other than sex our relationship is okay, just really boring. We don't have many shared interests, she likes watching TV and I like playing games, so after work we eat together and then usually go and do the things we like. Occasionally I go and visit my friends in different cities but she complains a lot when I do, saying I don't spend any time with her or coming up with lists of chores that have to be completed on the particular weekend I've said I'm going somewhere. Usually I get annoyed and just go anyway but I've had to cancel events because a task or job has come up at the last minute that absolutely must be completed or X will happen to our house.

tl;dr: Marriage is not fun at all and I think I've made a terrible mistake

Yeah it's a complete crock, and also it means the foundation of your marriage is "a-ha! I tricked them into marrying a person who is better than the real me, but they're locked in now!"

It seemed like middle daughter was closer to adolescence (12?, iirc) and had at least partly been raised by gma and gpa-just weird and inappropriately sexual. Sometimes tweens be like that.

It's easy to sit here and make suggestions, but yeah, expecting couple should move out and help grandparents initiate contact with child services. It's unlikely concerned parties at the school level will be able to do anything.

I guess it hit a nerve, because I grew up with similarly extreme (though different context) circumstances, and a lot of previous posts where kids were called evil or manipulative were written off as "it's just a kid, kids do that".

In those cases it was probably true, but really young kids can be super hosed up and dangerous and it requires a huge amount of nonexistent resources and involvement to manage/help those kids.

My father gained a bit of weight on his torso once he hit his 50s, but aside from that he and my mother are the same weight they were when they married 35 years ago, and seeing how their friends act about it (and remark about it) I have to think that appearance/weight is a huge issue in a lot of marriages. I mostly think of it as an issue of health. It's not fair to basically throw up your hands and be like, "enjoy those last 20 years alone in the nursing home!"

So here's something that could potentially be very frightening in the future:

quote:

My [24M] ex-girlfriend [19F] says that I'm dead to her. Looking for ways to cope with this
My ex and I had been together for almost a year, but had been official for 6 months. However, things came to an abrupt end about 2 weeks ago over the phone because we got into a huge fight. Words were exchanged from both parties, which resulted in a blowout, the blowout which led to her ignoring any form of communication from me. She hasn't replied to any of my texts/calls which I've kept to a minimum to not harass or pester her, and hasn't said a word since the fight.
A mutual friend of ours noticed the situation we were in, and he tried to approach her about it, but her response was that she didn't want to talk about it anymore, that it was a hosed up fight, and to never ask her again about it. He asked her why? Her response was "He's dead to me." A couple days afterward, he seen me and brought it up to me. Told me what she said, and I was just shocked, and blown away. I've accepted the fact that we are done, and even more after the fact that I am dead to her. It's pretty clear right? I haven't made contact for at least a week now, and am laying low off the grid, even disconnected my cellular device. I'm more of a person who'd rather resolve conflict in person, and find a way to resolve issues rather than just dispersing them. She's usually the same way, except that this time is really different.
I'm just wondering if anyone has been in a situation like this, where someone has said "You're dead to me". What are ways to cope with this? I feel my anxiety and depression are kicking in and being at an all time high lately. It's been hard for me to sleep, and eat. Been getting at least 2-3 hours of sleep a night, and eating once every day. Can't even concentrate at work, and it's the worse when I'm alone. Don't know what else to do. I can't even escape the thoughts of everything, or comprehend it all because it is still to much to take in right now. Just looking for advice, that's all.
tl;dr: My ex-girlfriend says that I'm dead to her. Won't even speak to me, and has ceased all forms of communication. How can I cope with this?

He's made about five threads across different subs regarding this. Then newly in relationships..

quote:

Me [24M] haven't talked to my ex [18F] in 2 weeks. Going to do something ballsy.
Read my other posts, I've explained what has happened not too long ago. I'm currently getting dressed right now, and going to head to my ex-gf's house to talk to her dad about everything. She comes back this evening. I'm going to fight for her back, and show how much she means to me. Sick of not being able to do anything, and complain and bitch about how much I want her back, actions speak louder than words right? Here goes nothing.
tl;dr: Going to prove, and show how much I love my ex, despite everything that's happened. Manning up, and going to talk to her dad, her parents just found out about our break up. Here's to taking chances, and fighting for what you believe in.
