I also want to know how old her husband is. She's a young 18 judging by the timeline. Obviously all the stuff with the kids is hosed up but does she ever sound entitled with the way she talks about her space being invaded. She lives rent free with her grandparents!

Strangely, it sounds to me like those children needs to be in that house more than OP and her husband because where the hell else would they be otherwise? And that scares me. Hope the aunt and her children get the intensive help and care they clearly need. Anyway, from r/legaladvice quote:(Montreal, Canada) Isn't there a law about pedophilia where something like if they're 5 years older and one is a minor and the other a major it's considered pedophilia or something? Has the amount of brokebrains train wreck families increased over the last 20 years or so, or is it just social media and the internet that makes it so visible now?

If my partner started getting fat like a bunch of old dudes at work I know after we got married I'd probably divorce them immediately like their wives did to them since gaining weight and not giving a poo poo is a legit failing. All the fit guys at work are happily married.

Sometimes tweens be like that. It's easy to sit here and make suggestions, but yeah, expecting couple should move out and help grandparents initiate contact with child services. It's unlikely concerned parties at the school level will be able to do anything. I guess it hit a nerve, because I grew up with similarly extreme (though different context) circumstances, and a lot of previous posts where kids were called evil or manipulative were written off as "it's just a kid, kids do that". In those cases it was probably true, but really young kids can be super hosed up and dangerous and it requires a huge amount of nonexistent resources and involvement to manage/help those kids. My father gained a bit of weight on his torso once he hit his 50s, but aside from that he and my mother are the same weight they were when they married 35 years ago, and seeing how their friends act about it (and remark about it) I have to think that appearance/weight is a huge issue in a lot of marriages. I mostly think of it as an issue of health. It's not fair to basically throw up your hands and be like, "enjoy those last 20 years alone in the nursing home!"
