A bit late on that, guys. :allears: This was posted a few months back so apparently the phoenix box things were in response to it. And probably why they're doing those infinity R&D packs immediately after.

Yeah I also assume that is why they added huge dil costs to K-13's main tier upgrade projects. It's gonna be 2 mil for the tier 3 upgrade according to the tribble people.

Prime timing.

Also I laughed when I saw the fabled T6 classic connie locked in that pack. I'd have done that too if I was looking after monetization.

Personally I'm more interested to see what they make the Franklin from that last Trek movie into when they get around to it. I hope it has a muffled Beastie Boys ambient audio on the bridge.

I wonder if we'll actually even see the Connie hit the exchange this time. Last time it never even dropped low enough to be worth listing, outside of the usual handful of folks who don't know any better and have it sell instantly.

What makes that ship so special/worth so much?

Also I found that the retrain tokens for having a gold subscription aren't actually tied to the promotion missions like I'd read elsewhere, they are actually tied to rank upgrades like the page says. I hit level 55 today (so I was promoted to an Admiral) and I got a token. Now I can fix up my build to one of the goon recommended ones, woo.

I decided to try something different too and I made a Romulan Tactical captain to play with a little, to see the different questlines and whatnot, I'm having fun on this too. It feels quite different to the type of ships I'm used to! (I am still playing my main engineer of course though.)

That's good news with the respec token. Also be sure to roll a klank when you're done with the romulan. The KDF missions are fun as well. Just don't get to attached to the alts. Alts work best when you're just using them to check out the other factions story and to funnel extra dil to your main. Actually caring about alts just leads to madness.

Yeah, once upon a time this game was pretty good for alts, but that's basically been dead since Delta Rising. There's too many grinds and cash sinks and character-bound required items to realistically support more than one or maybe two characters these days. Only real reason to have a lot of alts post-DR was having mules to turn in contraband en masse, but that was nerfed too.

At least my alts get UR Mk XIII rep gear now. No way I was spending the dil to upgrade that stuff before. And Admiralty at least lets me get my alts a spec point every couple of days without really playing.

Got you, I can see there's a great deal of investment in each character required, I still haven't hit 60 on my engineer nor got anywhere near the amount of rep I had on PS4 yet, so I'll probably just play my romulan when I feel like flying something that isn't my carrier (which is hugely fun still!).

I did get one of those tokens but the chat recommended I get the shotgun so that's what I bought. If I get another I'll get that capacitor for sure.

The RMC is nice, but is sorta redundant with all the traits, consoles, doffs, and powers that pump subsystem power nowadays. Shotty was a better first buy

I only ever good post, wouldn't know where to begin.

The amount of turning I have to do in random leveling missions to maintain weapon arc with dual heavy cannons really limits the amount of ships I would want to multibox, I don't know whether this changes in the end game/would quick and responsive skill usage be a bigger factor?

I couldn't recall, because there's a ton of pointless bullshit situational items I never got my hands on

Mondian

Yeah they killed it because it was doing starship scale damage on a shuttle and totally trivializing that one shuttle queue people ran once upon a time.

Asimo
Sep 23, 2007

The one in the phoenix box store is the launch-era preorder one, and yeah it's basically useless. No passive bonus and tiny little plink damage. It's only real use is shooting down targetable torpedoes and mines, so it's maybe vaguely useful when you first start fighting romulans in the 20s/30s but don't have enough tac slots on your boat for double FAW or something? It's junk.

The solution is to not use cannons. Put beams and FAW on everything, even escorts. It makes leveling so much easier.
