2nd Impact was actually the last Street Fighter game to have 1 button throws if you don't count CvS2.

I assume that beta that went up for a few mins, is a good idea of what s2 is going to be and/or actually s2 proper maybe. Either way stuff looking good, a lot of peoples numbers changed and basically everyones combo potential is going up(a lot of CH only combos are now normal combos). Also at least on what I have seen, outside of jab AA's a lot of peoples hitboxes are looking a lot better on both ground and air normals(especially Vega).

apparently all overheads were standardized to be -6 on block, but alex's overhead is still -4 on block? idk the reasoning behind that, but i'm not really complaining

I still think the Mika changes are dumb. I mean, I haven't played in months because I got tired of rage quitters and also the two guys I played with bitching ENDLESSLY about Mika. gently caress you, pal, I've seen your MvC3 videos where the screen is so full of poo poo between Arthur and Hawkeye that if the other person blinks, they get hit by 800 projectiles so I don't wanna hear it about Passion Press

some change notes from the leak. still subject to change. Gief's jab is still a good aa but most other characters aren't armor moves are severerly nerfed by the huge lowering of grey life regen Cammy and akuma can still do invincible dp but only in VT state most aa normals in the game are buffed and cause juggle states that lead to combos or super ryu gets more v gauge per parry chun li and mika nerfed to 875 health down with akuma nash mk scythe does less pushback chun can vt cancel off of special moves now bisons ex psycho blast doesn't explode on a timer, it goes full screen rashid -4 on a blocked hk instead of -2 dhalsim goes to up to 925 health guile still has his boom loops despite changes to cr mp by using different variations. no longer as long but still pretty long. karin's rekka overhead is now safe on block. can also cause a juggle in air with a j mp laura's ex cmd grab is fb invincible juri's vskill is much faster to charge urien now can easily link cr hp after a cross up j lk Juri st mp +5 on hit, links to st mk now

If even half the changes that are in stay, Vega is going to be 10 times the character he is now. claw st.hp range nerf is so certain combos can't be possible with the changes which is fine, as the move isn't really meant to be used on its own outside of combos, or bullying with it on someone's wakeup anyway. More to the point, its just a big who cares change.

I have a friend who insists that Mika is bad, broken garbage who isn't "honest" and "isn't playing Street Fighter." Mika won the cup, therefore she deserves the nerfs. But I think they're also making it so Gief can't do s.HP CC xx SPD now too so it's clear the game isn't being tuned to a vision but rather is a reaction to people complaining on the Internet. Anything else would be for Capcom I guess

Vega is still so much meat when he's getting up, but now he has a lot more good buttons, some of his worst attacks have better hitboxes, and claw on attacks are mostly + on block now, meaning that he has a meaningful way to keep people out with his buttons and some of his old playstyle has returned. He also no longer loses his turn when he hits with a roll, and gets more combo options in general. That, plus he can meaningfully crush counter crouching characters is an overall positive change. I expect him to climb up the tier ladder a few rungs.
