*EXT. - Night, Castle Clinton (not that one). A car pulls up to the grand double doors and a hooded figure sweeps up the steps into the marble foyer. Down hallways of dark wood and windows with curtains drawn against the silent electric eyes floating out there in the night. The figure is ushered into a room by a pair of men in suits, their weapons held at the ready. The figure kneels before a canopy bed. A hand, so thin and skeletal that one questions whether it is alive or animated by unearthly forces draws back the curtain. Inside, the figure rises up as best she can. She is Hillary Rodham Clinton, kept alive somehow, whether by machines or magics we do not know.* CLINTON: It is good you have come to me. I knew you would... daughter... *beneath the hood, CHELSEA CLINTON bows her head further in deference or disgust, we do not know* CLINTON: The primaries are coming... There must always be a Clinton in Washington...* CHELSEA: As you wish. *Inception horns* ED: Balls

The Nastier Nate posted:Bernie Sanders has spent his life keeping a seat in a blue state OUT of democratic hands, and if Hillary had won, then the democrats could have told him to gently caress off back to Vermont as proof they didn't need his progressive wing in the party. Bernie has a pretty good relationship with the VT Democratic Party and while he and they aren't 100% aligned, both tend to back one another in what elsewhere would be a rare case of solidarity against the right. I wouldn't say his career has been at Democratic expense. Focusing on how Hillary almost won and might have pulled it off if she'd done a couple of things different ignores the fact that the person she lost to was Donald J Trump. And that the democrats were firmly rejected at almost all levels, not just the presidency. The problem is both the messenger and the message itself.

Russia didn't hack the vote counts, it simply took advantage of the Clinton campaign's idiocy and poured lemon juice on some self-inflicted wounds.

I do agree she wouldn't have given him a job but honestly I think that's a pretty good thing considering where he is in the senate and all. You can afford to get good 'mercy' points with people like Clinton because you're not taking her out of a seat or whatever, with Sanders you'd lose a progressive voice with some actual authority in the senate when you can probably find a similar aligned person to take a cabinet seat and leave him where he is. Like, remember the hilarious attack ad of 'If Clinton wins, BERNIE SANDERS will be in charge of the budget' or whatever.

Also yea, Sanders 'keeps' the seat away from a democrat' literally only in party ID only. The dude caucuses with Democrats and has tons of connections with the DNC leadership helping him keep his seat. It's a Dem seat that makes some people in Vermont feel a little smug about being able to say 'actually I voted INDEPENDENT '

I'm not even hostile towards Hillary's money-minded fan base. I'm hostile towards people like Hillarys who smell their own farts and hire Mooks, because how could she lose? Oh and she gets to make Mook's daddy or mommy proud and doing the Mook family a favor she can call in later, since the guy would have had her WIN on his resume. There was no other reason for him to have been chosen. Sheldon Whitehouse has a redundant name, and could never be president.

Couldn't you solve that be allowing either gender to be entitled to the "parent" job? I mean were going to get to maternity/paternity leave well before we subsidize raising children, so the pregnancy aspect seems kind of moot in relation to it.

And I agree he'd probably do more damage in the senate but I've been thinking that a unity ticket might have done wonders for HRC's credibility (and kept Trump from trying to use Bernie's primary loss as a weapon against her) and she should have at least given him a call to chat about the possibility (he has said in interviews that he received no such call). I don't think she would have given Obama that courtesy, either. tower time posted:In the past certain branches of marxist and socialist feminism proposed the state pay women to raise children/act as homemakers as it provides a social contribution. *INT. - THE DNC HEADQUARTERS - DAY. Our heroes BERNIE SANDERS and KEITH ELLISON are being led down the hall by newfound ally CHUCK SCHUMER.* SCHUMER: So you see we're a small operation. We're hoping that you can change that, Keith. We're very open to hearing your ideas. SANDERS: So you're going to keep the election fair? SCHUMER: Yes, of course. Why wouldn't we? *the group arrives at the doors to the conference room* ELLISON: Aren't you afraid that I'll change things too much and scare off your Wall Street investors? SCHUMER: That's always a danger looming over our heads. But things have developed that will insure security. I've just made a deal that will keep us safe forever. *the doors open, revealing BARACK OBAMA standing at the head of the table, with TOM PEREZ standing off to his side. Faster than the blink of an eye ELLISON attempts to appeal to the working class, but OBAMA raises a hand, deflecting the argument harmlessly into the wall.* OBAMA: We would be honored if you would join us. SCHUMER: I'm sorry, I had no choice. They've been here all along! ELLISON: I'm sorry too.
