Actually making a character official gay is seen as "giving in to the SJWs." "Gamers" as a social identity have, since the publication of stuff like Feminist Frequency, decided that SJWs and feminists are trying to take away their right to have male power fantasies and ogle sex objects. Blizzard making a character gay is, therefore, a betrayal of their trust and customer loyalty.

The people on the Blizzard forums have been dumbasses for a long time. These are the same people that bitched about early D3 screenshots as being "to colorful" and "not dark enough" and "not the Diablo we know!!!1!" So Blizzard made those happy-go-lucky rainbow levels, just to gently caress with them.

The best thing, the comic is actually pretty good. A solid standard Christmas story, with a minor miracle, lot's of families, a casino robbery and casual alcoholism. Bog standard. Go on, read it yourself, it's on their website.
