Hell, maybe the ACOG optics are actual product placements. Seeing as they've not touched them at all that appears to be the case. Also, mounted a bit far down that rail ain't it? See, the biggest issue with just using current tech is that gun nerds will go on about it.

They need to slather KY jelly all over everything to make it look right. I actually had a dream that I was in Alien Covenant last night, and I remember complaining (as we were all massacred in a phantasmagoria of ruptured flesh, oozing fluids, and violations of the body) that the script had dropped all of the interesting ideas from Prometheus.
