I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG, BROTHER!

bloodychill posted:

Elf, Scrooged, and Christmas Vacation. Maybe some Home Alone. Christmas Story used to be my favorite but I've seen it too many times since TNT did the 24 hours of Christmas Story thing.

I absolutely hate Christmas Story and loathe it everytime my family watches it on Christmas Eve.

Here's a summary of the entire movie: *kids scream at the highest pitch possible* *repeat this for basically the entire movie* *dad gets a creepy leg lamp* *stupid rear end screamy kid shoots his eye out just like the mom said he would* *kids scream at highest pitch possible at all times*

God that entire scene where the stupid kid gets his stupid tongue stuck to the post, it's just like 10 minutes of window shattering screeching. Why would anyone like that movie

Incidentally there's a Twilight Zone marathon happening right now it's so much better than watching some screech monster get shot in the eye and be scared of being beaten by his dad

I can't stop playing the Nier: Automata demo. I'm getting pretty good at the dodge timing now, so I hope they don't change it too much by release :v:

I haven't tried it on Normal yet so I'm kind of curious how lock-on would even work. I don't really feel like I need it on Hard so I don't miss its absence.

Hard is usually the "this is how we actually balanced the game to be played" mode with Platinum-developed games so it's probably better to get used to not having lock on anyway. I actually kinda like the multitasking between controlling the Pod and attacking at melee range. It really gives you a better feeling of control.

The lock on is almost exclusively for your gun thing anyway, I don't think it affects melee stuff at all.

Mash R2 a whole lot and you can chain-dodge pretty easily. Once I learned that I stopped burning through recoveries too quickly. I'm not sure how much damage enemies do on Normal, but on Hard, you can burn through your whole HP meter if you get juggled by the normal enemies doing their wheel-arm attack. But mashing R2 will get you out and then you can counter and own them hard.

If I eat a whole Bart/Lisa Spin combo on normal it was like a quarter of my bar so uhhhh :stare:

Good to know chain dodging works though. Wonder if they'll penalize that in the final game.

Well, that aligns with the vibes I was getting. Which was, like, "normal" kinda vibes.
Last night my wife and I watched a bunch of Christmas special episodes of tv shows and I had her watch Gremlins for the first time. I didn't get any games for Christmas but I got a boat load of Amazon bucks so I turned some of that into PSN bucks and bought World of Final Fantasy. I also spilled coffee on a PS4 controlled so I hope the rice bath it's sitting in fixes it up, or else that's another $50 gone.

Happy holidays friends. I'm wishing you the best gaming experiences to end this pretty crummy year.

DQ8 is coming out of 3DS before PS4? When's the other release date? I like my 3DS but I don't use it enough to give it preferential treatment over the console I use all the time.

Uh, I think you might be confusing it with the upcoming DQ 11 which hasn't been released yet, 8 is a 3DS port of the PS2 game, there's no PS4 version.

DQ8 for 3DS sounds like fun. I never played the original past like the intro town. What's the deal with the additional party members? I know they were already in the original game, just not playable, and I dunno how much the party members actually matter during the plot so idk if they're adding more lines or what
