yeah basically if you do gymnastics you'll be able to do any sport that doesn't involve hand eye coordination like tennis or baseball if you did any other sport the most basic of gymnastics skills will be forever out of your grasp. hip raises to support will wreck you. hand stand walks will be impossible if you don't have the lockout. even relatively easy poo poo like iron cross progression optimistically take 3-5 years. of course your ankles also won't work but you know details

Rodenthar Drothman posted:I wish my elbow would get better. I fear I may need 8 weeks no lifting... Ive got bone spurs in my elbows, most likely from years of tennis followed by crossfit and not really knowing how to lift when i started. Left arm is just discomfort; it's whatever. Right elbow has material inside the actual joint, keeping it from locking out. I can't snatch much more than 200 anymore, and the jerk is just non starter. I've got a second opinion lined up on friday, and I'm pretty sure they're going to suggest the same thing, which is a pretty basic scope but still it's like 2 months off and gently caress man you can't do anything if you're elbow is immobilized. classes are about to start back up, ive got a really cool job as a pool rehab tech, im going to whistler in two months with the gf's family, the open is in 2 months, etc

Rodenthar Drothman posted:I wish my elbow would get better. I fear I may need 8 weeks no lifting... Of course it works. The inflammation needs time to go down before you stop doing further damage every time you pick something up or reach into a cupboard. This takes time, and maybe drugs.

Probably going to a doctor would help. You can't diagnose yourself, that's why we have medical professionals.

Most doctors will say just rest for a few weeks and see how it goes and, hell, they're right. The mindset where you're not making progress unless you're actively doing something isn't helpful. Rest is when you grow and heal but someone came around and thought "hey, wouldn't active rest be better?!?" No.

Rough, man Mine isn't super bad unless I'm lifting, I've never had it before so it's kinda weird. I tried dumbbells yesterday, that was a no-go. No lift bros We can still squat, right?

I bought cheap ones at the advice of this thread and they snapped on a 500lb deadlift. Before that I had some from elitefts that lasted 8 years. Also stop talking injuries in here. It is bad juju. I worked up to a 335x3 bench today then did a drop set of 275x6 225x8 135x12. That was my first exercise of they day so I was slogging through the rest of the workoutbecause I was gassed like a fat baby.

I don't mind spending money for something nice that I intend to use on a regular basis, case in point the adipower's I ordered 2 days ago. Don't like chucks, and my slip on's look like I stole them off a homeless guy.

Cost twenty bucks, have lasted 4 years They're not PL straps, so you can bail behind you with them.
