It's pretty simple: Is this a freedom/state's right I personally agree with? The government should stay out of it. Is this so-called freedom/state's right thing something I don't think others should do? The federal government should do its job and ban it already.

In the wide open spaces however one might argue for needing a license for NOT owning one, just like smoke detectors are required, visible house numbers at the road are required. In country houses everyone who knew how to use a gun knew where the guns are and how to open the safe(s). Government can be good, but how much do we need.

Also HOLY gently caress the guy is homeless and believes in sperm magic! What? He needs a stable mental facility and a 72 hour hold, ASAP.

Some of you might remember the dude who lost his job after making threats against his new boss because she was a woman? Dude pissed away literal millions on strippers and became homeless. Mental illness is just a loving black hole sometimes.

We have a Swedish version about three fathers where the hospital mixed up the babies. So the fathers are faced with 3 babies and can't be sure which belongs to who. One father is black, One is from Stockholm and one is from Gothenburg. So the father from Gothenburg says he'll take the black baby because at least then he can be sure it's not the Stockholm baby. Is that black fear or Stockholm fear? Edit: Any news about the latest wacky adventures of Telomeres guy?

I work a physical job that involves a good bit of easily learned skills, and it starts off about 3 or 4 bucks above minimum wage and we all work like 50-70 hour weeks, so all our money comes from overtime. Most everyone there are all staunchly against raising minimum wage. I think it's because you don't have a great job, but it's a good step above minimum wage and I feel the driving factor behind these attitudes is a desire to feel superior to others. e: an anecdote - Sometimes someone will leave before lunch to go pick up food for everyone. A lot of times they are walking up in a McDonalds with sometimes as high as 11 or 12 separate orders. Even if there's a tiny mistake, like one person got onions on their burger when they asked for none, they get really pissy and do the "herp how hard can it be, loving idiots" As someone who has worked fast food, the only thing hard about our job are the hours. It's way the gently caress easier than a prime time rush at McDonalds. Drunk Driver Dad has a new favorite as of 11:58 on Jan 3, 2017 |

Yeah I don't quite get it. I make more than 15/hr built not a huge amount more. So if minimum wage was increased to 15/hr I'd just immediately argue to my boss that I should get a significant raise due to working in a field that requires significant experience and education above and beyond an entry level job. Presumably people opposed to the minimum wage hike either make so much more than the minimum that this argument could not be used, or have so little faith in their own skills or their company's morals that they don't think they could make a successful case for a raise higher than 15/hr.

Yes, but it doesn't matter how much they're earning as long as they're earning more than the other guy. And they know that they're making more than some people now, but if minimum wage is increased those who are unworthy might one day make as much as they do. Spite is a powerful motivator.

Or, C, they just hate the idea of anyone else getting money for what they view as "no reason at all". A depressingly high number of people living near the poverty line will argue that the minimum wage shouldn't be increased because something something millennials. It's always just the same bullshit about how kids are lazy, we shouldn't reward people for no reason and that they get on fine without that money (they don't) all while completely ignoring the reasons why people need minimum wage raised so badly.

The ouija board thing was a few pages ago, but what's the deal with otherwise skeptical people buying into the ouija/spirits/bad energy/curses thing? I don't think there's anything wrong with it, believe what you want, but I personally know several people that will poke fun at religion and then very seriously warn against ouija boards.
