also reminds me that the escher museum in den haag owns and you should all take a day off from falling into canals in amsterdam next time you're in the netherlands to go. it's like half palace tour, half display of escher's work and information about his life. it was really cool seeing the progression from cityscapes and landscapes to his more well known weird illusion stuff, although i felt a bit nauseous after a few hours exposure to hosed up woodcuts
