If we include Japanese stuff, then the best video game movie is probably the Yakuza film since it at least was directed by Takashi Miike.

The Phoenix Wright movie was kinda forgettable (or I was way too high watching it), but yeah the Yakuza movie is goddamn amazing. The plot is a pretty decent adaptation of the first game, which had a reasonably simple plot, and the actors were more or less Miike's usual people doing another movie about weird-rear end Yakuza guys.

Yeah, I honestly thought it was one of Tarantino's best movies.

It's set up almost like a play, with most of the action in one room and tons of great dialog.

Shame about that guitar, though :(

Not much. Most of his salary went to an outrageous dental bill because he was chewing so much scenery.

If they ever made a bad guy version of the Expendables, Jeremy Irons would have to be their leader. Either him or Malcolm McDowell.

While it was a joke, I don't think Ridiculous 6 was too bad. I've certainly seen worse Sandler movies. Plus Vanilla Ice played Mark Twain and that was funny.

Sandler keeps trying to do Tough Guy roles and is less and less plausible with each one.

That's not a terrible line, just terrible direction and delivery. If she said "do you know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by lighting?" then struck him with lightning, and then turned around and did a little shrug and said casually, "same thing that happens to everything else", it'd be fine.

"It croaks," probably would've been a better choice.

In an earlier version of the script, there was going to be a running joke where Toad would ask, "Want to know what happens when a toad does X?" but it was removed from the final draft where Toad is a non-speaking character; that was meant to be the payoff.

No it's an awful loving line.

Even once you get passed all the awful superhero cheesiness, it doesn't even make sense, because things do in fact respond differently to lightning strikes.

I think the main point is that it's a super powerful character easily destroying a joke character, so it should be played out like a humorous moment, not a badass moment

Apparently the line wasn't in the script and Barrowman just said it to get a reaction from McShane. I'm guessing he didn't think it would actually make it into the film.
