It was an expression of the political value the pro-life community put on the unborn to the point they make a totem out of their deceased fetus. And then forced it on their kids. Remember also that very little of this really has to do with the unborn at all. It's an reactionary expression of religious values to the women's rights movement. It's about policing women into "traditional" roles. And this is how far they've taken it.
